Does anyone know what happens if they can’t get any of the games in for a 3 game series?

Higher seed moves on. Whoever wins the first game goes or if it is 1-1 the higher seed moves on

Vinton will be tough out with Guidry on the mound
Welsh eliminates Haynesville with a no hitter, 9-1.

westlake to LC

Other than one 8th grader I hear planning to go to Barbe for baseball and 1 in season freshman Receiver moving to LCCP last year. Who exactly are you referring to because I dont believe this is the case at all?

Westlake will Struggle big time for the next two seasons ,at least. Losing every starter but 1 (pitcher who beat Catholic BR). Great group that has come through very similar to the 2007/8 football group. Their district is unforgiving other than LCCP and trying to schedule small schools in the area will not work out historically.

Series with Doyle should be exciting, hopefully the rain holds off. Westlakes #1/2 only allowed 1 hit last weekend hoping they can stay hot. Geaux Rams

I believe they added teams. must make a reasonable attempt to move game to a “playable field , after 2026

i wasnt talking about a particular kid, i was talking about in general people move from westlake to lake charles quite often.

i was just talking about a lot of people move to LC from the surrounding communities. just like there are a lot over the years that have moved from westlake to moss bluff. alot of that is, atleast until the golf course opened, wasnt much in terms of land to build on in westlake.

but my post was just talking in general that many from places like westlake, sulphur etc move to LC

I mean how else could you do it? The dates for McMurry Park are absolutely not moving.

The only other thing you could do is adjust go back to single elimination semis and finals on the dates scheduled for best of 3 championships but that won't happen as it would go against the format voted on by the principals. That would have needed to be worded into the bylaws as a contingency plan in case of rain.

10-4, then yes that is accurate. Westlake has been getting 1 player from either Sam or Barbe the last couple of years for baseball.

And yes Westlake is strapped for land in every direction... interstate-south, water-east, Sasol/P66-West, added as much as they could Course and Big Apartment heading north around Ponderosa. No way Westlake will ever get to 4A/Div 2 just not enough homes available

It’s called adapting. Move up games to yesterday and today. They all see the forecast for the next few days. They know the risks of waiting.

It's not that easy.

Teams that make it this far have established rotations with more than the required rest between starts.

Even if that particular starter is not on a draft list, he has likely had an agent since his SO/JR season if he has had D-1 interest. It's necessary to handle NIL stuff and advisement on school choices as it relates to the best interests of the kid.

Granted this wasn't much if any of a factor just several years ago, but it is now. Good luck getting a kid who threw 100 pitches this wknd to come back midweek.

yea for sure. and i mean they could get to 4a as in the late 70s early 80s they were at close to 800 students and still even at 2000 they were over 500 but the town has gotten older as many that originally settled there in the early 60s have not moved, their kids stayed but their grand kids moved because until the golf course opened there was no place to grow

on top of that sasol buying out a lot of the west side and you have a recipe for falling enrollment

but they could get there in the future but it would essentially take a huge portion of the town turning over from elderly to young families and i dont see that happening.

Juggling umpires, exams, proms, graduation, travel and lodging all complicate matters.

And as wahoocs said ANY kid with an ARM has a handler now and THEY have enough stroke to manipulate when said arm does or doesn’t pitch - before NIL it was just upper round draft possibles - now with NIL it’s exponentially more.

I understand what you’re saying but that’s what’s wrong with youth baseball nowadays. You can’t hold your program hostage because you don’t want to upset your players “agent”. If for some unfortunate reason teams can’t get all the games in this weekend because of weather instead of playing the games a day earlier will be really unfortunate.

They'll get it done. They almost always do.

I promise you that no coach, parent, or player wants their team going into a series at a disadvantage b/c the kid that got them there can't go when it matters the most.

Weather be damned.

I am aware of at least two recruits in the past few years that balked(pun intended) at pitching in fairly meaningful games in May due to their handlers.

it's names EVERY one in this thread would recognize.
and at least one that told his handler "frick that I want to win state"
