I told yall from the start of the playoffs, barbe had a ton of freshman playing and that the draw they got was much harder than Sam's. I was the won tampering expectations.
When Heath went out, that just meant another freshman starting.
here is the issue at barbe right now
senior class- was pretty damn good. 2 big time recruits, 3 guys going juco
junior class- 2 kids that contribute, very top heavy
soph- 0 that really contribut on a daily basis, weak overall class
freshman- absolutely loaded
8th- very weak overall, 2-3 top kids & nothing else unless the new rule has a bunch of unknown players moving in
7th- similar to the 9th grade class & absolutely loaded
so you have no classes back to back after this year that are pretty loaded and really dont have any classes back to back that even have contributors. going to be a ton of soph playing next year for sure. They will have a ton of pitching though
the having to play so many freshman hurt them. but also because of travel ball, the schools across the state are better than ever and can come up and bite you in the arse.

I will say this too....alot of the AP people are great but the ones on Facebook have been complete and utter douche bags. the constant bullshite comments are ridiculous and attacking kids is uncalled for
and the constant bullshite about recruiting gets old AF, especially the constant comments about recruiting coordinator getting texas kids.
1) barbe has 1 kid originally from texas. Talon Sweat the freshman. Do we think barbe is recruiting in Buda fricking texas? with all the plants in the AP area and influx of people moving in, is it really that hard to believe a kid has parents that may need to move for a job? Not to mention Buda is a top 20 program in texas whom overall has much better baseball than our state.
2) the only other kid not originally from LC area is Zaylon who moved here in 6th grade. been here like 3-4 years now.
3) littleton moved from sulphur to LC. This is a very very common move. plenty of people from Sulphur, Westlake, Moss Bluff move to LC, just like its common for LC people to move to Moss Bluff for more land.
but the constant calls of cheating get old AF really quickly. Every one of these moves have been legit to the point of LHSAA going to the houses and making sure they live there.
I know it wasnt from guys on here but the shite was pissing me off, got a lot of shitty people out there including those that run popular FB pages.

That was obvious last year when they played Central. Games were 1-0 and 1-0. I was not impressed at all by Barbe's hitting last year. I know they have D1 commits but those D1 did not impress me at all last year. Now the 2 starting pitchers from last year were really good: Littleton (was lights out) and Miller (kept us unbalanced).
The whole Barbe U video before the game was really cringy. Could have been cut in half and still get the point across. Nice facilities though and great high school atmosphere. Similar to when Zachary and Central play each other.

It's a lazy accusation. Barbe has won 12 championships since '98. Kids want to play there and some move into the school district for this very reason. If this is cheating, then there are a whole bunch of folks throwing stones in their glass house. Families don't need to coerced or paid to move into the school district. It's one of the most recognizable high school baseball programs/brands in the South, much less the state.

100% but also people need to understand because of the plants, there are always people moving in and out of the area
perfect example is the influx of south africans that have been brought here by Sasol. Got soccer parents bitching about them moving over here in middle school and accusing schools of recruiting...its like frick Karen....do you think St Louis and Barbe are flying over to South Africa and offering these kids or something?
its just so lazy and dumb. and you would think an area like AP that is similar would understand people move all over. I dont see people from LC bitching everytime a kid moves from St Amant to Dutchtown or when a kid from LP moves over to the AP

and we have 200k in the immediate metro...yet able to field 3 teams that compete for D1NS, 1 that competes for D2NS, 2 others that compete for D3NS and 1 that competes for D3S and one that competes for D4HS
so tell me again what rule did barbe want changed to help them?

I posted it not that long ago, everything is different since the 90s… power ratings, series, the higher seed hosting all of them.
I agree they’re good progress, but let’s be honest, it’s benefitted the best teams at the expense of the rank and file

barbe has won their district every year.
all that shite is based off football. baseball didnt have anything to do with it. and why shouldnt the higher seed host? why shouldnt they be rewarded for the better regular season?
and again...how did barbe get those rules changed? you claimed Barbe got rules changed to benefit them
this is the kind of bullshite im talking about. constant bs accusations from schools that cant even make the playoffs.

I'm here to eat my crow, I did not think Barbe could be beaten in a 3 game series. Maybe I was guilty of buying into their showcase and social media PG/PBR hype their top guys like to push, did not see this one coming. Well, they will have more time to work on that now. Congrats to Dutchtown on a big series win, bouncing back from a beat down in game 2 on the road, hard to do, especially at Barbe. The cringe videos, signs, etc at Barbe don't seem to carry the intimidation factor they were designed for. That 5A title is for anybody's taking now, should be interesting.

I think what the poster may be referring to is the truth, a long time ago, Barbe and a few of the better schools pushed hard for more 3 game series in the playoffs, as the better team should win more of those. In the past, Barbe and others occasionally would lose to a low seed early on, weaker team with one D1 stud pitcher. They wanted to change the rules to ensure that the better team advanced more often.

There are reasons that the privates that ARE in LC stay small. VIABLE PUBLIC schools - Those schools would look very different, if they were in LC.

Yes, most should want it. And Barbe did too.
They actually lost as a 1 to a 32 if my failing memory is correct.
Pretty sure I had that convo with him.
