I don't really understand the dislike of any driver.
Except Albon.
Except Albon.

Yeah, I don’t know. Between the month long break, this shitty new engine formula, being aggravated for Bearman, and agreeing with Max I’m just a little negative about F1 right now.
Hope FIA fixes something soon.
I know Suzuka was boring last year too but seeing a car/team disappearing out in the front already is not good.

The only driver I have an irrational dislike of is Esteban Ocon and I think Bearman might finish him off this season.
Swear down I don’t even think Stroll wants to be in F1.

Stroll and Ocon are petty far down my list.
I don’t even know/remember why Ocon is so far down for me besides his few tangles with Gasly I guess.
Perez is pretty far down there too. Mostly for that wreck with Sainz in Baku

All right, the TD F1 Championship results are in!
dg42.net/TDF1/race-results.php?race=3
The winner of the TD F1 Japanese Grand Prix is MississippiLebowski, for his second podium in a row and first win of the season!
The podium is filled out by WAY2GOLSU in P2 for his first podium, and Swamp Puppy in P3, also for his first podium.
Congrats to the players scoring their first points of the season: YOURADHERE and Stateguy.
These players have scored points in all three races so far: MikeD, MississippiLebowski, Swamp Puppy, and bikerack.
Here's the championship table: dg42.net/TDF1/index.php
MikeD still leads after a dominating first two races, but MississippiLebowski is coming on strong and is just 10 points behind.
Swamp Puppy has jumped from P6 to P4. WAY2GOLSU has jumped from P11 to P5. Greace has jumped from P12 to P8. YOURADHERE has jumped from P16 to P10.
After three races, 16 out of 29 players have scored points. Last year after three races 19 players had scored points, so we're a little behind. I would say we're underperforming a bit because last year the field was very tight and it was less predictable. I feel like right now the TD F1 championship should be a little tighter because the top three and bottom three teams are obvious, and we are seeing the trends of the midfield teams. Step it up guys!

Also note, I'm running a poll right now on the site. Last race someone mentioned that it would be better to lock the predictions after qualy so the predictions would be far more informed seeing the actual performance of each team at that particular track. I have my reasons for believing that locking the prediction lists before the weekend start is best for most players, but I said I would put it to a vote. I adjusted it to lock the predictions after Day 1 instead of Day 2. The poll will be open all April until a few days before the next race, or until all 29 active players have voted. To change the rule to lock after Day 1, a simple majority vote would be 15 votes, but I am making it slightly harder, and I am requiring 17 votes to change the rule. Please put in your vote as soon as you can. The faster we settle this the longer we have to prepare for a possible change in the rules.
Edit: For the first time ever, I used AI to code the polling function with admin form. I used Claude Sonnet 4.6 (free tier) for those curious. I did the initial functional design with 24 prompts. After that I used a mix of manual and AI coding to tweak it out for better usability and to fix some minor bugs. I must say it was fantastic. It saved me many hours of manual coding. While it certainly helped that I knew what I was doing (it helps to make better prompts), a non-coder could really accomplish great things with AI with some motivation and practice.

It is strange because the fix in the fan's eyes will make the cars slower at this point.
Basically allow for energy deployment in a volume that couldn't deplete the battery over an entire lap. So reduce the peak battery power output. This will give the illusion that the car isn't losing power but at the tradeoff that the car isn't making the power it is capable of.
They already do this with fuel flow but the viewer is ignorant of the fact because the reduced flow is during parts of the lap that the engine needs to be lower power.

Or give the teams 2 yrs to develop a NA V10 and tell the FIA to shove their net zero where the sun don't shine and allow refueling
We already have FE... we don't need a 2nd one
F1 should be the pinnacle of motorsport... currently, it is not

Yes, but it is what it is... F1 and the FIA screwed the pooch with their formula e bullshite and now the product is going to suffer either way, but getting rid of the mario kart mushroom may at least save someones life.
They cannot have another Senna situation. The drivers have been vocal and called it out loud and clear today, Sainz being a huge proponent that someone is going to get killed if this continues.

The teams do not want v10's.
FIA has more chance of forcing V10s than the constructors do voting them in. Ben Salami wanted V10s, everyone laughed at him.
The constructor support (short Ferrari) would likely disappear. They engine developers have no reason to dump money into the sport if not getting R&D in return.
Really far out view would be that F1 would be Saudi owned within 5 years and we would have 15 races in the Middle East.

Man, just googled F1 News to see if anything has popped up and everyone is going all in on Verstappen walking away end of this year... Gonna be hard for him to put those worms back in the can.
I hope he does. He has said for the last few years the new regs would be shite and miserable to drive and it looks like he was right. He doesn't need the money. Do what makes you happy and go manage his own team in the GT circuit.

I said earlier I wouldn't be surprised to see him walk away if he can't get a too seat. A sabbatical year isn't unheard of in F1 and Merc would have to make a decision to unload George or Mclaren one of their two more than capable drivers.
Lewis could leave and Max could take that spot. Ferrari probably has their eyes on killing one more legacy.

Never forgave him for crying that he was being raced too hard by a junior team.
Also think he has held Williams back. Sainz scoring 2 podiums last year kind of drives that point home.

Imagine being an Apple TV exec and signing off on the licensing of F1 under these new regs.
I wonder if F1 is feeling pressure from sponsors yet.

Have ant ratings been made public?

No and it sounds like Apple never will tell the numbers… sounds like it’s the same thing they did when they paid for MLS that faltered.

It’s probably a rounding error for them.

Not sure how the ratings matter in a lot of cases. Obviously some sponsors want American viewership numbers high with others probably more worried about demographic than total number.
