Gasly is a shoe. That last lap was perfect. I wonder if Alpine will ever become a proper works team. That would definitely make it more interesting.

I think it’s a bad look for Mercedes, they have struggled for 5+ seasons now on the chassis side. I know they weren’t happy that McLaren had passed them up but that happened over the course of multiple seasons. For Alpine to be not just nipping at their heals but now out qualifying them half way thru their first season using the engine has got to be setting off alarms at Mercedes.

Monza tow is crazy. Not sure how much Gasly got but that can be the difference.
That statement isn't taking away from Alpine. It takes a lot of work to put your guys in the right position and for them to execute flawlessly.
