Izzo has barely done anything in March since NIL/portal era began. He went to the Final 4 in 2019.
Only made it to Sweet 16 one time since then.
I don't see this Tema going much further than that, but their draw is one of the easiest in the field.

Lobos had me nervous there for awhile. I have sparty as my champ. If the ducks can pull it off the 2nd half I’ll have had a hell of a day. 6/8 elite 8 teams still left

There were 39 teams who were unranked in the preseason that ended up as 1 or 2 seeds in the history of the tournament.
None have made the final four.
St. John is now #40.
MSU is #41 with history not in their favor.
Teams that win the tourney are typically top 25 in offense and defense efficiency. MSU isn’t top 50 in offense.
