Nothing that happens at Daytona this year will top Cleetus McFarland's interview after he crashed out of the ARCA race...

Creed threw a block there and stacked up the outside line, causing a sizable crash.

Lame finish. Right as Jesse Love crossed the start/finish line to take the white flag, the wreck ensued. Jesse Love wins.

How he keeps getting rides in good equipment is beyond me. He caused another wreck tonight blocking, the 2nd to last wreck. And his interviews are boring.

The Daytona 500 is today boys!

Unfortunately, I won’t be surprised if there is a rain delay. Hopefully the race can be run in its entirety today, though.

Rain chance jumps from 5% at 1 to 85-90% from 3-5. It then drops down to 50% at 5 before it drops off the table from 6 on.

So because they moved up the green flag, we need the storms to come in before lap 100 to avoid giving nascar the chance to call it early

Didn’t realize until recently that he is Phil Parsons son in law. He has a good resume . Arca , truck , and stadium truck champion. Wiki says he is the winningest stadium truck driver in history .
He’s definitely not the typical NASCAR driver.

what makes Daytona so hard for championship-caliber drivers like Blaney and Larson? just the unpredictability of a super speedway? bad luck?

Gotcha. Always thought it was weird how such a prestigious race sometimes has some of the most random winners.

RaceWeather
@RaceWeather

1 PM @Daytona SUN update - Strong storms about 80 miles west of track, moving east 30-35 mph. ETA 3:30-ish PM.

40-45 mph gusts are possible. The rain should last 60-90 min - Potential for it to last up to 2 hours

After the front passes, track drying will be aided by WNW 10-15 mph winds with higher gusts. Temps will drop into upper 60s.

Thx to the RaceWeather team of mets and
@NASCAR_WXMAN for their collaboration
