Great racing, but BMW s*** the bed as usual in both classes.

I guess most of it was on peacock?
I saw a grand total of maybe 30 mins of racing once I got home and watched it on TNT or whatever it was on at that point before it went off air at 5:30.
Dumb.

Having this on Peacock was horrible. Usually I can watch it on obscure channels but not this year. Nothing better than watching racing late at night and early in the morning. And no I’m not paying to subscribe to Peacock.
Acura jumping from 4th to 2nd in GTP in the last 20 minutes was incredible. Porsche had a great weekend, although the Green Monster underperformed.
Ford finished strong in GTD pro. Looks like all the money they spent on that car paid off.
Corvette had a pretty good weekend too. Funny seeing Ferrari, Lambo, Aston, and Mercedes all have bad weekends.
I feel like there were more wrecks and DNFs than normal. Seems like the track was pretty cold and dicey overnight.
Great way to start race season besides for the NBC fumble.

NBC/USA/Peacock suck. Sooooo many commercials.
I VPN'd through Europe to be able to watch it on Youtube without commercials.

In the last caution there was essentially a 10 minute commercial break and I thought they cut the broadcast at some point. Once the long pro bowl commercial came on I thought what are they doing?! Did they end the race broadcast?
Just so much to unpack in a race like yesterday. How about BMW starting strong and falling off?

In GTP, Dries Vanthoor crushed it during quali and the first little bit of the race, but he was also their downfall. He got too impatient at the end and broke the car trying to do an ill-timed pass, and then their strategy bungled it even more when they didn't change the nose in that last caution. They lucked out with that caution, but rolled the dice on not changing the front then. Anyone with half a brain could see how fricked that car was. It looked like it had hydraulics as it was bouncing down the high speed portions of the track. They wouldn't have come back for a win, but they might have been on the podium.
In GTD Pro, Corvette got their revenge with that late bump into turn 1. I'm a BMW guy, and even I had a god chuckle at that.

The 4 car’s intent was pretty well evident
Here we are talmbout the spicy racing between the Chevys and BMWs while Ford put two Mustangs on the podium. Can they keep up this trajectory and win GTD Pro? This also assumes the 77, Rexy, doesn’t defend her crown (I assume Rexy is a she). GTD Pro is an awesome class!

sigh . . . waiting for racing . . .
What racing podcasts do y’all listen to and racing media do y’all consume?
I’m an Indycar and IMSA fan primarily, but also like F1 a lot. I also watch the 24 Hours of Le Mans. If it's on and nothing else is, which is rare, I'll turn on a GT World Challenge race (they're free on Amazon and their European series runs the 24 Hours of Spa).

Prema, Andretti, and Coyne tested at Thermal. Prema showed well and kept up the pace with the Andrettis. Ericsson was the fastest, nudging Herta and the 26 Gainbridge Honda by .3 of a second.
Here is the Prema car on the track.

Anyone camped at Nashville Superspeedway for the Indycar or a NASCAR race?

I would have turned it on and left it on for 24 hrs if it was that easy here.

We made our way to the grandstands for the last 2.5 hours, it was electric keeping up with the battles in all the classes till the end.
The two Porsches at one point really were in a class of their own darting through the traffic, Dries did a fantastic job catching them as much as he did.
It’s a shame there were so many issues in the night sessions. It was super cold, the cars were on skates coming out the pits on cold tires. Kobayashi put on another show when he got it at night before their car had issues. Dude is super fast, even at his age.
Also, watching Connor Zillich drive is a treat. You can just see his speed vs everyone else when he’s in the car. Drove into one too hot to end their chances, but the kid is electric.

Spend a couple of dollars on a vpn, and that problem is solved. Much cheaper than peacock per month.

I wish imsa would go back to using the old caution model. Cautions are insanely long. With the wave arounds, class split, category split.
Where the 40 WTR wrecked is the only blind spot for spotters.
?? Someone in the Michelin pilot challenge race literally was being told when to shift. "Upshift when you see the green light".
NBC coverage was bad, too many interviews. Kept flipping back and forth between RLM and NBC on the scanner. NBC just seemed odd at times. Shame that Alex had issues in the MSR Acura. Would've just needed a local caution had he pulled into the grass instead of stopping on the apron.
Looks like we spaciallaly aware and respectful fans will have to start policing those that do things they shouldn't. Garage Access may be different next year.
someone stole parts from AO racing.

BIG NEWS
The #8 Tower Motorsports LMP2 has had victory of the Rolex 24 stripped from them! Not only that, they've been retroactively demoted to 12th (last) place! The reason for the demotion is a skid block technical wear violation. The #22 United Autosports ride has now been awarded the win. Wow!

people have no awareness
Looks like I'll have to be an a-hole next year. We're all upset on Facebook and Reddit over these clowns that have zero respect.
