Disastrous weekend for Williams

The Grand Prix was rough for Williams but they got 9 points and a podium in the sprint, that’s not a terrible weekend

He started on soft. Think it was expected he would pass pretty early on. Then Lando passed him with Softs and Mediums

They were screwed by things out of their control as well. Except Albon being the driver he is.

Sainz getting P3 in the sprint is nothing to be ashamed of.

Oh man I had already forgotten about that.

Yeah the podium was a great result.

Sainz would have had an excellent weekend had he not got ahead of himself on that pass that took him out. A boneheaded mistake.

Not if the weekends keep going like today he won't.

Sainz has been docked five grid positions for the next race, and got two penalty points.

Quickly looking at the numbers it seems like 5 weekends just like this one would do it. Or maybe I’m wrong.

Eh, probably deserved. Not the worst race to take a penalty as Williams has cooling issues anyways and Mexico will probably be a tough race for them.

I'm open that I may be wrong but I was pretty sure he needed to outpoint both Norris and Piastri by 10 every remaining week to take it. So he'll need to win amd have a disastrous week for Norris to make up for Norris making podium today.

All right, the TD F1 Championship results are in!

dg42.net/TDF1/race-results.php?race=19

The winner of the TD F1 United States Grand Prix is pitstop with his second win and fifth podium of the season!

The podium is filled out by WAY2GOLSU in P2 for his fourth podium, and 225rumpshaker in P3 for his first podium.

Here's the championship table: dg42.net/TDF1/index.php?table=full

After a four-race drought, sorantable was back in the points again with a P5 in the USGP. But his nearest pursuer pitstop won the race and pitstop is now the leader of the TD F1 championship by 11 points! sorantable had led the championship from the beginning of the season and held the lead for the first 18 races. He doesn't know what it's like to be a pursuer; can he handle the pressure of chasing the leader?

P3 to P10 in the championship all came up dry after the USGP!

WAY2GOLSU has two podiums in the last three races. Can he continue to rocket up the standings?

What was the tiebreaker for 10th place?

When people have the same race score, the person who saved their prediction earlier gets the tiebreaker. One of the pages lists the rules, and it does mention this rule. It's modeled after the qualifying rule where if two drivers have the exact same lap time down to the thousandths, the driver who set his time earlier is listed on top.

Thanks - I figured there was something somewhere but I was too lazy to go looking for it.

Ouch, didn’t seem anything like Stroll’s torpedo up the inside. Just finished watching finally.

Was nice that we got 2X Lando Leclerc battle. Wasn’t expecting that.
Lando was feisty on the last one.

Good for Max and Lando. Going to make it super interesting on Oscar.

Good for Bearman too.

I think Max has to outscore Oscar by 10 every weekend and Lando by 5.

Max's points deficit to Piastri

???? 104 pts
???? 94 pts
???? 69 pts
???? 63 pts
???? 40 pts

Five races and two sprints to go...

It is incredible that he has shaved 64(!) points off the deficit in 4 race weekends and now has a chance.

I’m guessing Lando was too close today for Max to get a pair of softs and get a point for fastest lap.
