Do you think 3rd once in F2 equals 3rd twice times in Indy? I think Indy and F2 should be equal in points.
Another good comparison is WEC vs IMSA. How is an IMSA GTP winner worth half a WEC hyper winner?

Because it is sanctioned by the FIA and it is the FIA's point system.
The series' don't race on the same tracks and they don't pay into the FIA.
Doesn't make them uneven or one better than the other. It's like a loyalty program. Reward those that pay into the system.
WEC vs IMSA; one is global one is just North America. One is enduro. Not sure they should be equal, but they are different.

I guess that's my point about European elitism in regards to the super license. You and I see the same thing thing and come to different conclusions. That's fine.

IMSA's GTP category and WEC's Hypercar category are essentially the same thing, and almost half of the IMSA races are endurance races (5/11 for IMSA. 8/8 for WEC).

Im sure the other part plays in there. Being a world series versus a national series.
Eurotrash favors eurotrash races.
For whatever reason they values races in different continents more than we do in some cases. Im not positive, but it seems like I remember F1 season has to compete on 3 or 4 continents to be a valid season. I might be making that up, but for some reason it sticks in my head from 2020/covid.

Justification enough to bring back the V10 engines IMO.

yeah, 2020. I also couldn't remember the exact rule, so I looked it up. You must have races on three continents to be considered a "world championship." That applies to all FIA sanctioned series. So, it's a valid season, just no WDC or WCC. I guess they'd just be CC and DC?
F1 didn't meet those requirements in 2020 (did any series?), but they ruled force majeure and made it a world championship anyways.

Glad you looked it up. I somewhat remember that obscure rule that year. Asia, Europe, Eur-Asia.

They need to ignore that data. That demographic has been mentally poisoned and can't pay attention to any video longer than 2 minutes. It is a chronic issue.

Sounds like he wants to become NASCAR with stage racing

I’ll quit watching it if they do some dumb shite like that.

I’d prolly quit watching also if they shorten the races or go to stages. In the last couple years we have had several good races that would have had epic endings if they had 5-10 more laps.

If you're just looking at the race, F1 is already like the shortest major sporting event out there.

I think it’s obvious that there’s going to be more eyes “watching” the highlights on social media. It’s free and available anywhere.
Didn’t we learn a while back that basically all the SM companies were inflating viewership numbers of videos on their sites?
Hell, I watch the race and don’t “follow” F1 and related accounts to avoid spoilers. So, the complete opposite of what they’re saying.

Pretty damn short with zero commercials.
I find myself pausing it sometimes to do things I’d normally do during a commercial break of football.

An hour and a half, make it two hours if you watch the podium presentation. No commercials is the key, I’ve watched the 4th quarter of NBA games that seemed to take longer.

Two hours or two hundred miles. Nice and simple.

MotoGP is quite a bit shorter but maybe many dont consider that "major."

INDYCAR when hearing about F1 considering shortening races and getting more gimmicky
