Lando is not the dead man walking like some thought. This is going to come down to the wire, pure head to head. I know some people hate Zak but McLaren used to be the laughingstock of F1 a few years ago.

Yeah, but I think at this point Oscar’s bad days are P2 and Lando’s bad days are going to be DNFs. Can Lando be perfect and lucky for the rest of the season?

I think Lando has gotten it together since the crash in Canada and McLaren has finished 1-2 in every race since then. I hope they keep this title fight going until the last race of the season. If one of them runs away with it the second half of the season could get really boring. Only other story lines are Ferrari v Mercedes for second in the constructors and driver silly season.

I’m with you completely. I’m pulling for Lando for sure.

You forgot the fall of Max Verstappen.
Posted on 8/4/25 at 4:31 pm to TigerFanatic99
The fall of Max Verstappen might have been completed this past weekend when he finished the race behind Liam Lawson. Only direction from here is back to the top which is a storyline I will happily watch ha.
I’m glad he’s not winning every race by 20 seconds anymore but I think Formula 1 is better when he’s at least competing for podiums.

Oscar is the better driver, Lando wins only when strategy works out or theres a penalty/error, Oscar wins straight up.

Lando definitely has had some kind of sports psychological help. He's not as goofy. Even after a win, he's more even keel. It's showing on track.

I feel this way about Lewis Hamilton—not so much Max.

Lewis was fun for people to hate on when he was dominating as was Max.
Now every time I see Lewis give an interview post race/qualifying it’s like watching a Sarah McLachlan ASPCA commercial. shite is depressing and makes me sad.

Piastri is more aggressive in traffic, Lando is better on long tire runs. Nice pairing. The different styles don't have them going for the same real estate all the time. Keeps them from binning each other.

Lately it’s been more like if one of the dog’s in the commercial was begging to be put out of its misery

Yeh it was rough watching him this past weekend. On Sunday he doubled down, said he still felt that way, and then claimed there is some behind the scenes stuff that isn’t going well. Hopes he will be back after summer break.
I’m kind of hoping Mercedes and Ferrari do a driver swap for the rest of the season. Kimi for Hamilton.
Posted on 8/6/25 at 1:34 am to MississippiLebowski
I think Hamilton's just banking on Ferrari nailing the regs next season since they are not nearly as aero dependant and are engine heavy.
It does Crack me up that he talks like he's essentially the team principle or racing division CEO, driving meetings and making changes behind the scenes. I know drivers in F1 are much more prominent than other racing leagues and Lewis is about as high profile as it gets, but seriously. Calm the frick down, bro.

Ha, I caught a few minutes of Indy qualifying in Portland maybe yesterday and almost posted here about it. But I checked the Indy car thread and it hasn’t been posted in for a week or so…?
Y’all see that nascar driver slip off his car after winning the race and damn near break his neck? Apparently he broke his collarbone.

The 2025 thread is at 3996 posts(200 pages) today, the afternoon of August 10. Today is also 1 full week after the 14th race of 2025.
2024 Formula 1 season Thread
2024 thread on the afternoon of August 10: 5158 posts, 257 pages
2024 thread 1 week after race 14: 5129 posts, 256 pages
2024 thread reaching 200 pages: July 4, day before the start of silverstone weekend
And for the previous comments about weird non-racing situations inflating last year’s totals, I’d argue nothing that happened last year compares to Horner being fired mid-season.

Boo the bottom sticky.
Cheer that the Brits team (McLaren, yes I know they have plenty more) needed an fat American to come in and save them.

Don’t discount the 14 posts for the Lacrosse league! They are important too.
