Just saw that if Bottas covers for Stroll next weekend he’s carrying a 5 place grid penalty for a collision with Mag last year

Wonder how long until those fall off. Alonso left in 2018 and cut the Abu Dhabi chicane enough to catch a penalty, but never had to serve it when he came back.

Also saw Max's simracing team Redline were DQ'd from the 24hrs of Nurburgring for cheating. Max wasn't racing, but was "with the team"

Could be Bottas’ last shot to impress the brass at Caddy, otherwise he will be in INDYCAR next year per his comments to the Finnish press last week

Drugovich is racing in LeMans next week, which will be fun to watch

Couple few hundred races he has in his repertoire. If Caddy wants him, they should grab him.

He's a solid driver. He was to Merc what Checo should have been to RBR. He did about as well as he could have at Williams and Sauber/alfa.

Bottas said in a recent interview that he really felt like he did the best driving of his career last season. Said he felt like he really got everything outta the car, just wasn’t a winning car.

Canada replaces Monaco for the Memorial Day race which means there may be some overlap with Indy.

I’d have to pick Indy over the fricking Canadian gp. Cota would be a little tougher

The last time a racing series got too big for its britches and ran directly against the 500 it did not end up well for them (US 500 and demise of CART)

Redbull got an exemption for their next young prodigy. I assume he will be in F1 next year. Prolly means Yuki and Lawson are done.

If it only conflicts once every 5 years, then have it on Saturday...

How does it conflict once every 5 years? Are they going to do it a week earlier the other years? All seems odd.

If anybody gave a shite about the fans F1 would be on a bye week, NASCAR would run Monday, and we'd get to see guys from both try to qualify for the 500.

Monaco hasn't always aligned with Memorial Day/Indy.

Has done so more lately.

Hopefully this halts the price increases in Montreal a bit.

Excluding 2020, the last time it did not was 2005. And even then, there was a triple header because F1 raced at the Nurburgring that morning.

greed.

That movie is basically a re-creation of the DRIVEN plot

We witnessed Peak F1 in around 2023...the Disney Licensing, Lego collab, movie etc are all the harbingers of oversaturation and the subsequent bubble bursting

Its become too frothy

I don't know, count me in for the F1 movie.

Proven director, great cast, visuals looks incredible. Driven was pretty awful, this actually looks good.

Plus I just like going to the theatre and this looks like a good one to see on the big screen.

And 2021; most of the time they are though.

I think Miami, Canada, and Indy so close are going to hurt live crowds, maybe Im wrong.
