i was watching the 1980 Monaco race on YT and the announcers were saying you can't pass because of the circuit.

Spec MX5 race. Counts for WDC. Doesn't count for WCC.

So what you're saying is in 2050 when we're watching 2000 horse power school bus size f1 cars creep around a turn we're going to be saying the same thing?

Has there been any chatter about which race replaces Monaco on Memorial Day weekend? Would they really move Canada to that spot? Would be odd to start the race early enough to avoid Indy or to have it overlap.

Could it be an off week?

We need COTA on Saturday, Indy at 11:00 on Sunday, then the Coke 600 that evening. That way we can see Larson and Max go head-to-head in three different series over the course of the weekend. frick it, throw the IMSA race back on Monday and let them go at it in GT3 cars too. Larson knows how to drive Indy and Nascar, and Max knows F1 and GT3. Should be a good battle royale.

I can’t imagine that fruit loop who announces on the F1 channel ever being critical of anything.

Not an announcer, but Peter Windsor was pretty harsh towards it.

honestly can't see myself ever watching another Monaco race. It's kind of sad that such a crap race is considered the premiere race of the year.

Everyone says it then we all make peace with it and watch the race.

We know it is about quali and then a parade, no one was surprised.

Hopefully they learned the gimmicks of forced pit stops and such are just bad ideas. Just let the race be what it is until they decide on a track change or changing the cars. Just stop with gimmicks.

Kym gets to do what we would all love to do and follow the sport to every destination. He doesn't really skimp a ton either.

His travel stuff is really cool as he breaks down the price and quality.

Also his responses to people giving him a hard time on social media are great.

Also on record last week that Danny Ric is 100% not going to Cadillac. Just said "I know things others don't"

F1: Monaco GP
(May 24–25, ABC, ESPN2)
Added 5/28
9:57 AM
Sunday’s Formula 1 Monaco Grand Prix averaged 2.3 million viewers on ABC, surpassing last year (2.0M) to rank as the largest audience on record for the event.

Lando Norris’ win, which peaked with 2.6 million in the 10:30 AM ET quarter-hour, delivered the third-largest F1 audience ever on U.S. television — behind only the 2022 and 2024 Miami Grands Prix (2.6 and 3.1 million respectively).

Qualifying coverage on Saturday averaged 933,000 (+28%).

His story is interesting. He started out making on-hold audio recordings, and he built that into a decently sized business. I don't know if he still owns it or what, but he for sure travels in style. His youtube channel alone could probably cashflow most of his travel.

He says he didn't really know or care about F1 until RIC became popular then started following the circus.

By year two he had full photography passes and open access to the paddock.

Now a lot of the time his son follows him and seems like the whole family runs the business of being a traveling photographer.

OK guys, last race of a triple-header.

Predictions will be locked out tomorrow night (Thursday). Update your predictions now!

Apparently this is the last race at Circuit de Catalunya? We're losing both Imola and Barcelona? That sucks.

Let's remove the final chicane and make the track better, then let's replace it a couple years later with an awful street circuit between warehouses.

Won’t really miss imola, but I def prefer Barcelona over a Madrid street circuit. Spa moving to a rotational race is the true tragedy.

TBD; would be nice to see a German track thrown back in, but will likely be something like South Africa or Gaza.

Tracks come and go, Spa has its issues, but will be there when F1 popularity dies back down again and race fees aren't so crazy.
