I have no idea. Thai season is much more difficult to predict than last year. I do think I had the top 4 or 5 but not in the exact order.

Loving that Williams is doing so well.

Just watched half the Indy 500 and that type of racing is shite compared to F1.

How do you allow the leader to ride the back of two other lapped cars for 10+ laps? fricking bullshite.

Made it impossible for #2 to catch him and also allowed #1 to save fuel when he was going to be at E for the last few laps.

Give me F1 over that bullshite any day of the week.

Yeah I’ll take today’s Monaco over that. Although the pit stops are insanely entertaining shite shows.

I agree - but they weren't lapped. They were trying to keep from being lapped, which means they can block all they want. F1 is the same.

Nope. If the leaders come up on you in F1 you get blue flags.

You are allowed to race to stay on the lead lap in F1.

ETA - I'm probably wrong but just repeating what I have heard on the broadcast.

ETA #2 - it may be a judgement call from race control. if you have the pace to keep from being lapped, you don't see the blue flags.

I'm a little confused. Even the announcers were describing those cars as "lapped" (probably using that word imprecisely), but if they were in fact not lapped, they have every right to hold their positions, and like you said, it's the same in F1.

if a leader comes up behind the last driver on the lead lap in F1 he will most definitely see a blue flag
I'm not saying indy should have done that but they aren't the same

Hmm, looks like you're right. Can't hold up the leader indefinitely.

How do you have this rant after the shitshow we just witnessed at Monaco?

I've heard Brundle say multiple times that you have the right to keep yourself from being lapped....but yeah, if you don't have the pace you eventually see the blue flags. Probably a judgement call from race control.

I believe the blue flag in f1 is a command, Indy it’s informational/advisory.

They were and should have gotten blue flags to allow the leaders to actually race, rather than ride the slip stream to victory.

Monaco is known to be a complete shitshow due to the track, not due to the rules...

And Monaco isn't the pinnacle of competition, its purely spectacle/historical, unlike like the Indy 500 is or Taladega/Daytona within Nascar.

Now if you want to complain about my rant after a Spa or Silverstone shitshow where the leaders tailgate to remain in the lead, go for it.

Will Buxton was so pensive and dramatic and sounded like he was on D2S the whole broadcast. It was weird.

The IndyCar drivers themselves complain a lot about blue flags being ignored. In the spirit of pure racing (not thinking about the show), I am of the opinion that a car should be able to avoid being lapped if they are not illegally blocking. Of course every driver who has ever led a race believes the backmarkers should get out of the way.

I think in series like indy and nascar, they fight very hard to stay on the lead lap because the odds of a caution are extremely high and shite like the lucky dog means you are never really out of it in a 500 mile race. In F1 the odds of a safety car have gone way down since GOATifi left but the window licker is still a good bet for at least one.
