Sinner over Alcaraz in the final

Barring injury, would be surprising if the final is anything but these 2. Alcaraz might drop a few sets along the way, but a best of 5 gives him plenty of time to find his form when his level drops.

Rune could be tricky for Sinner. Alcaraz should breeze through this quarter. Zverev CAN win it all. But he never will.

Tiafoe is wearing hot pink Lululemon clothes. I need a fashion critique from Sir Winston.

I don't have social media and don't usually get jealous over what others have/are doing but for some reason every year watching the Aussie makes me want to be there so bad

Good article about Rublev, who's one of my favs

LINK

quote:

How did Rublev find a way to recover? “Since Wimbledon some things changed,” he says. “I was taking anti-depression tablets and it was not helping at all. In the end I said: ‘I don’t want to take anything any more.’ I stopped all the tablets and Marat Safin [his fellow Russian, who won two grand slam titles] helped me a lot with conversation.

“He made me realise many things and then I start to work with a psychologist. I learn a lot about myself and while I don’t feel in a happy mood or the happy place I would like to be I don’t feel any more that crazy anxiety and stress of not understanding what to do with my life.””

Rublev was the only player last year to beat Jannik Sinner and Carlos Alcaraz and he laughs enthusiastically at the reminder.

The ESPN set makes it look so nice. I think the fact that we are in post-holiday winter doldrums adds a lot to the allure of the tournament.

I'm hoping GOATovic can pull off one last one. Got QF tickets both days to watch all the matches

Nobody sells a match like the French. Even more so an Aggie Frenchman. Rinderknech drops the 5th against an injured Tiafoe.

ESPN is awful

They don’t have a stream for the Tommy Paul match. They ended it for no reason and are instead showing Osaka on ESPN 2

Just a fricking trash product. Somehow don’t have the damn American male on but have this Japanese bitch on both a stream and the tv coverage

“We will show everyone match on ESPN +!”

Just kidding, we don’t show American men 5 setters

Seriously. Wtf ESPN. No excuse to cut the Tommy Paul stream.

Nobody cares about Osaka.

I have always liked Rublev too. I understand he is good buddies with Medvedev; saw a Medvedev match where Medvedev was melting down and yelling, they panned up to the bleachers and Rublev was sitting there laughing at him…

I was young, but seem to remember there was almost no coverage back then. I don't think I remember seeing any matches before they moved to Melbourne in January. A lot of players didn't care because it was at the end of the year. This is interesting to watch now.
