I'm really hoping to see at least some racing on Sunday. I can't stick around for Monday unless it runs early. If they postpone a day, what time do they normally run on Monday? Same time, I assume?

If this remains the forecast early Sunday morning, depending on the length of the delay, this may be the situation where Larson and Hendrick have to make a decision to do the 500 or do the 600. They understand what an opportunity they have with a fast car and a P5 starting position.

I would be interested to see what happens, legit shot at the Indy 500 may be better for business than another NASCAR win for Larson/Hendrick, especially because he has already qualified for the playoffs.

hes going to skip the World 600; Nascar is going to give him the waiver.

But Larson won’t win.

I think he finishes 7-15 range.

Ultimately, it’s sort of a wait and see thing with the weather. It’s hard to know exactly when and where storms will be until they’ve actually started forming on Sunday and we can see them on radar. I hope everything works out for things to run as scheduled.

The forecast keeps shifting, and pushing the higher percentage of showers further back in the day. *In a perfect world, they’d be able to bump the start up about 30 mins or so [Green flag is currently set to drop @ 12:45pm ET] fingers crossed everything goes well.

My money is on Herta or Dixon being able to put it all together and make their way through the field (starting 13th & 21st)

*Lots of inexperienced and slow guys bunched up in the middle of the field to start, I could see a decent amount of early cautions

i think its going to be a sprint with minimal fuel saving.

I suspect we will see Herta, Dixon, Palou, Castroneves making moves early and pushing into the top 10 early

Ultimately after lap 100 we may see a few alternate fuel saving strategies if weather becomes tenuous… we may see a random winner … Like a Callum Illot or Christian Luundgard

I’m seeing a 45% chance of rain tomorrow and that’s right at the beginning of the race.

NWS still has the rain chances at 80%, but their forecast covers the day not any specific times. Hopefully there will be a window at the right time.

I watched a NWS briefing earlier. They said first line coming through between 10-1, then a second round later in the evening around 6. I'm hoping the early line gets in early and gets on out of here.

This is from a NASCAR reporter/writer who is at Indy this weekend. He seems to think if there is a delay to the Indy 500 that causes a scheduling conflict for Larson, that Larson will stay and run the Indy 500.

With regards to Larson, NASCAR rules state that a driver must start every race to be eligible for the NASCAR playoffs. NASCAR can grant a waiver to that rule, which they’ve done in the past for drivers who have missed races for things like injury or illness. I would imagine Larson/Hendrick Motorsports would like to secure a guarantee that they would get a waiver before making a decision (assuming the Indy 500 is delayed significantly). If they know that Larson will get the waiver, then I think Larson will stay and run the Indy 500. If the waiver is in doubt, then Larson is probably forced to go to Charlotte and abandon his Indy 500 attempt simply because they can’t give up championship eligibility.

For as much publicity and screen time that Larson and NASCAR got during this year's run up to Indy, I'd surely hope he gets the waiver

I agree. Him running the Indy 500 is a PR win for NASCAR, as much as it would stink for him to miss the Coke 600. I think it would benefit them for him to be able to run Indy.
