As we usually do, we’ll keep using this thread through the offseason. I’ll start a new thread for the 2025 season toward the end of January/beginning of February.

Brett Griffin with not return to Door, Bumper, Clear
I didn't agree with all his takes, but he is a guy who has been in and around the sport for a long time and a lot his takes and directness reminds me of guys I've known and been around in the regional circuits. Are they adding someone else? With him leaving and TJ taking on a bigger role seemingly with the DJD it seems like DBC may be taking a backseat to a lot of the DMM podcasts as they move to SXM.

There is only so much time to listen to podcasts each week so with the addition of Herm and Shrader I can see JRM cutting out Door, Bumper, clear. The guy didn't show up for work many times, constantly talked about being drunk at a bar. He doesn't seem to fit in anymore and I agree with the change.

I don’t want to see DBC go away. Might be my favorite Motorsports pod.

Couple others I listen to.
Actions detrimental
Stacking Pennies
Money Lap
DJD dirty air
Harvick happy hour
Rubbin is racing
DJD w guest and DJD reloaded occasionally
Full Credit to the Noise and Apex Hunters United (more supercar centered)
I’m curious about herm and schrader pod too.

DBC is/was its own worst enemy.

Great show when they were talking about the race and what’s going on in the sport, especially silly season. I’ll miss that part of it.

On the other hand, Brett and Freddie are just not serious people. You’d tune in thinking you’d get a decent podcast sometimes, and they’re talking about starting drinking at 9 am, one of them is hung over and was out till 4 in the morning the night before. Then they had stupid inside jokes that I couldn’t care less about. And nobody outside of Mooresville gives a frick about what’s going on at Millbridge.

Etc. Etc.

It’s like they weren’t quite willing to make it a real job and revenue stream.

Seems like TJ saw the writing on the wall and him cohosting the first installment of DJD for the week was his best option.

Freddie can be good, but you nailed why the show is losing numbers and this is about lower listens and subscribers. My opinion was Brett, and Freddie to a degree were a determent to the Dale Jr brand.

Just eliminate stopping for stages. You can still give them points but don’t stop the race.

The reason NASCAR went to stages was the criticism of all the phantom yellow flags. It allowed them to bunch up the field to make things interesting, and to also do away with the mysterious debris cautions that no one could find debris for. They will never go back to not having them.

Mike Davis just announced DBC is returning.

Some speculation. What non-nascar drivers do y’all see making cup starts next year?

Supercars guys like Will Brown, Cam Waters will be a given. I think you’ll see SVG’s former teammate Broc Feeney make a start too.

Would not be surprised to see Daniel Riccardo make a start.

And it might be premature, but Corey Day will get one cup start next year. He’s not ready but I can definitely see Rick Hendrick self-funding a 4th Spire car.

I'm curious as to what happens to Front Row and 23XI during the lawsuit. NASCAR stated it will drop to 32 chartered teams. With that setup 16 cars in the playoffs would be too much, which would possibly include 50% of the chartered teams.

I think of version of this is the correct way to do it.

Take points all the way to the last race. The current season long points leader gets an auto-bid in every round of the playoffs.

Yeah Brett in particular has great perspective on things when he can actually channel it.

The whole 'tough guy' schtick got old, especially considering that he would clearly get his feelings hurt on twitter constantly and block people

The episodes were just too long for the information/insight you were getting at times.

Agreed, which leads me to the question, what does Casey actually do there?

I thought she was basically brought on to keep the guys on topic, and the show moving along, but like y'all are saying, the conversation would still just wander off into bullshitting about nothing. I'd forget she was in the room sometimes.

I didn't hear it, but BrakeHard mentioned Brett also ranting about Haitians eating pets a few weeks back. With Dirty Mo growing, and being on SiriusXM now, I don't blame them for wanting to hit the reset button on DBC now.

Yeah that’s what was frustrating about it. He’s clearly in the know on what’s going on in the garage. Has a platform and opportunity to sound off, bring in interesting guests in, and be serious, but would rather just act like an arrogant tone deaf slap dick 75% of the time.

Ryan Preece to the RFK 60. Guess Kroger only wanted him. Have to believe there are better prospects available.
