St. James has derailed a few Farmerville/Union playoff runs in the past.
They usually have home field.

Wouldn’t be shocked if Curtis beats ASH. I greatly dislike them but they just win. Also they’ve been there a million times while ASH has not.

Word on the street is that Cecilia at Plaquemine will be televised as the Cox game of the week.

While the coach and the staff may have been there a million times, the team is different each year. I don't know what will happen but just because ASH hasn't been there like JC doesn't mean they can't win.

I'm hoping for a good game. Being at the last three ASH games (including Neville), all were blowouts (Byrd wasn't but they still won comfortably).

ETA: I wouldn't be surprised either if JC won but we will see Friday night.

I grew up in Buras. I always said if they ever combined the 3 schools they would be tough to beat. Port Sulphur always had sick athletes. BV and Buras would always have some great players at different times.
Hell that Buras team that knocked the Mannings out and won state was nasty.
Glad to see S Plaq doing well.

And Fort Jackson saw many great games over the years.

A great, experienced coaching staff can make the difference. Ponchatoula hadn't been to the semifinals in 70 years when we made it in 2021, but our coaching staff had plenty of experience at that level. A big reason why we beat a great Acadiana team that is there year-in and year-out was the playcalling.

More on this. 1 man recking ball? or they have some others that can take some pressure off of him.

Of course but this isn't ASH's first rodeo either. They played for the title 3 years ago against Acadiana. We can talk about it all day long, we'll see what happens Friday night. Won't be surprised either way.

Guess we will find out but EDW has a pretty good defense that is fast, smart, disciplined and gang tackles well

Is he any kin to Michael Ford that played at LSU? I thought he was from Leesville as well.

ASH got run up and down the field by Acadiana in their scrimmage.

Acadiana ran up and down the field against John Curtis and lost. Let’s hope ASH is able to stop a QB option run. Acadiana couldn’t stop it to save their life.

Acadiana scored three times in 12 plays against ASH. ASH scored on them once in the opening 12 play session. ASH played them TD for TD the rest of the scrimmage. Including being tied at 7 after one live quarter of football.

I don’t know how much weight that gives either way given it was a scrimmage in August.

ASH has scored 40 plus on good defenses in WM, Neville, Ruston, Opelousas, heck Ouachita wasn’t a bad defense. So if JC wins they will have slowed the game way down and ASH will have turned ball over or had a problem on special teams.

JC is obviously playing well and anything can happen, but if they get ASHs best game I don’t see them having the firepower.
