Ohtani was incredible in that inning.

Razorfist, a youtuber, played semipro and lived in Japan, even speaks the language. He said the fans are more into pitching than batting. It seems to show in how they play.

Pitch clocks would have ruined the last 3 innings of that game. The Shwarber AB, imagine that entire sequence on a timer. The tension built that entire AB because there was no clock forcing the action.

The pitch clock changes everything for the worse.

Solid point. Maybe the better option would be a batter clock. Setting a max time they can be out of the box. The batters were the real ones forcing the extended game times anyway.

I’d like for the US to bring more pitching, but that wasn’t what beat them tonight. Japan just pitched really well. US spread 10 hits.
