Same. Just happy Alcaraz got beat.

What’s wild is if they played on any court besides Ashe or Armstrong, I don’t know what Med would do. Where would he stand? There wouldn’t be nearly enough room for him to play like he did tonight. I wonder if that was his issues at Indian wells and Wimbledon. Those courts aren’t nearly as big as Ashe

Alcaraz plays amazing tennis. I just like that Medvedev was hated by the US Open fans.
And I like Med’s personality. It’s hilarious.
Alcaraz is in your face. Med is subtle. I laughed when he started doing the “I can’t hear you” gesture that Alcaraz was doing.

We are supposed to disagree in sports. I personally don’t like slow play. That’s the beauty of it. Maybe their crew that rubs me wrong.

I've not followed the entire thread, so apologies if this has been discussed, but Ben Shelton may be the least likable (and most UF) American tennis player I can remember. Loved Djokovic's gesture.
And I've been lucky to go to many great sporting events/venues, the US Open is the worst. People chatting or screaming the entire time. All me, me, me, not at all about the event/players.

I really like Alcaraz. I started the evening hoping for another Alcaraz-Novak final. But Med makes it hard to root against him. Particularly when the snobs in the crowd obviously are.

Carlos tried same tactics his mentor Nadal tried after 2 sets. Ran a delay to upset rhythm. Still remember the US open that Nadal beat Med. Med had Nadal and then Nadal did his whole unsportsmanlike shite
Medvedev pulls that stuff all the time. Milking Medical Timeouts (MTOs) when he needs a breather, taking extended bathroom breaks when he needs to refocus.

Med took an injury timeout earlier in the tournament and when asked what his injury was he said “i lost the set”

If some player did what djok did to a Serbian player in Serbia, they would shite in that players locker and burn down his hotel that night
American fans bend over backwards to blame the American and save the offending eastern euro
And we wonder why American tennis doesn’t have the passion of other countries
We should be blowing air horns when they serve and firing flares at then like they do to us
Pssh

I watch every major every year and my wife and I can’t stand him.
He’s a fantastic player. Physical and has amazing net game. He’s a cocky punk on top of the world who’s acting like it.
Maybe he’ll grow out of it like Nadal did. Maybe not.

He is 20. I give him a pass. People like him bring younger fans to the sport, which is good.
I don’t like the showboating, but it’s what I expect.

So we have to like someone just because there's a little flag next to their name?
I largely root for Americans, but I'll make exceptions when players act like idiots. Serbs (and Russians and Belarusians - none of whom have little flags next to their names) do the same. Shelton is unbearable.
