Alright dude, we get that you don't like Bubba, but you have spent half a page melting over him, so either move on or leave the thread for a while.

Well, he is the topic dude, he flipped the bird in a continueing history of hatred. This just happened and is news. Maybe if you can’t handle it just take a break?

None of us here are melting over Bubba. Just you.

Look we don't care for him or some of his antics either but he's part of the sport and actually running well of late.

No need to use up half of a page ranting about him.

Does it matter who he directed it to?

No it doesn't, but you're the one who posted the pic and said it was directed at the fans.

Like I said, this is much ado about nothing. It's just Bubba being obnoxious again, which isn't worth complaining about weekly.

Bubba Wallace won't be penalized for flipping the bird on pit road after the race. It is NASCAR's understanding he was gesturing to a friend and while inappropriate, it wasn't done malicious.

Bubba is a flashpoint which is why I don’t like bringing him up here. I do acknowledge that he wasn’t responding to someone getting on his radio. (That is not unprecedented, though; someone did it to Jeff Gordon back in the day.)

That being said, I think Bubba has decided that he wants to be a ‘rasslin style heel, and IMO that is the worst thing he could do. He just needs to shut up and drive and quit having a hissy fit every time someone does him wrong and just do what people have been doing for 70 years, i.e. settle things down the road.

God forbid we post about a relevent topic on a gasp “racing posting board”. I was replying to another poster so it seems you are the stalker here.

Their “understanding” lol. Just like they understood the garage pull and called 17 FBI agents. Regardless of the why, he did it during a post race live TV interview.

This is how Nascar works. Good guys and bad. For all the Chase Elliots and Dale Juniors, there has to be a Kyle Bush, Ross Chastain, or Bubba Wallace. The only difference I see is that Bubba will whip you azz after the race.

Now that is a fair criticism.

Even Rowdy has been embraced by the fans more the last couple of years, including myself.

He has taken the DW route of fan acceptance.

Don’t disagree with you a bit. Bubba is a unique case, though, as we all know. And that is as far as I want to go down that particular path.

He drove a good race last night. Honestly, though, I sort of grimaced at his interview aside from the bird. He was second in one of the highest profile NASCAR events in years but instead of enjoying the moment it was like “if I can’t win it ain’t caca.” IMO you should never be satisfied with second, but at the same time you can appreciate that you hit a pretty good lick, especially on a night where one guy has the whole field covered.

I wouldn't know why. A couple of weeks ago, even in the back of the pack, he took out some serious cars. Get in his way when he smells the finish line and he'll hurt your feelings.

Nascar has gone through a period where the bad guys weren't that noticeable. Chastain and Wallace seem to be changing those dynamics. You just can't have 40 good guys lining up every week and expect Nascar to survive.

Did you ever read that great book that came out a few years ago about the 1979 season? When DW blew the championship (pretty much because of his own stupidity)? The author made the observation that as full of himself as the young DW was, he was always in his heart of hearts a legitimately good guy (he rewarded the DiGard crew generously after that debacle) and with maturity more of that came out and fans finally picked up on that.

Richard Petty once said that to have a really good race, you need fast cars, cars in the middle and slow cars. Forty cars who can’t get out of each other’s way does not lend itself to optimal racing, but people act like it’s a disaster these days if 35 cars aren’t on the lead lap after 500 miles. That to me is a bigger deal than not enough heels.

And yet their national hero was one of the meanest SOBs who ever put on a racing helmet and just wrecked people for the hell of it. Ralph Dale Earnhardt.

You can't make this stuff up.

Great book, lots on D. Allison vs. Cale, Richard and Kyle, Earnhardt’s arrival and Pearson/Woods split. The party line is that they split mutually, but the author got the Woods on the record that Glen called Pearson the morning after that Darlington race and fired him. Apparently Pearson and Leonard Wood had not been getting along about the car, and Glen saw all the hotshots like Earnhardt coming in and wanted Pearson to start mashing the gas harder instead of laying back and David quite understandably and rightfully resented being told how to drive,
