In other news, apparently NASCAR is looking at the potential of moving the Xfinity Series to exclusively digital streaming starting in 2025.

short track racing is a lost art Posted on 5/21/23 at 9:00 pm to Roll Tide Ravens
This times 2000 … they’ll punt someone when they’re going for a win or for position at the finish, but they’re not going to grind for 400 or 500 laps like in the old days.
And am I imagining things or did Boyer say something like with the big ol’ tires these cars have, it’s hard to lean on someone because the tires can absorb a good bit of impact?

And hearing it will be Amazon Prime.

Just repave it with the same mix as Darlington has so we can see them slide around and the tires actually matter.
Only problem there is that Wilkesboro is at the foot of the mountains and Darlington is in the sand hills 80 miles from Myrtle Beach. Different climates and wear patterns.

This was a good race for AS recent standards. Charlotte also has a lot of blowout wins too (ASR).
These cars have so much more grip and downforce it takes a good hit to move them compared to old days. Until Nascar takes some width out of tires this is what you get.
If they brought a full race here it would be different. 40 cars in track changes dynamics. More wrecks. More strategy as race is longer and tires matter.
I think with as much as cars cost most drivers don’t want to ruin a race car for the AS race. Now to introduce a new or rebuilt car it has to go to Nascar to get approved and stickered - its not just rebuilding at shop - you have to deliver it Nascar for final inspection.
I think they needed to have stages every 50 laps. That would be 3 cautions minimum - but only give teams 2 sets of tires.
There was tons of passing (bump and run) but Fox is historically bad at showing wider angle racing views. They zoom in to one or two cars all race long and you never get a feel for all the action. Old school TV racing was covered better with more larger views and could see battles all over track.
This race was won in a gamble for tires and hoping no caution came out after 30 more laps. And it paid off.

Ricky and Dale actually buried the hatchet before Dale died and he’s said he’s very glad that happened. I may have mentioned this before but Kyle Petty tells a great story on the Dinner with Racers podcast about him, Dale, Ricky and Tim Richmond getting kicked out of the Gold Club in Atlanta during a night on the town together.

Katelyn Larson chugged a beer though, pretty cool

North Wilkesboro has an official/locally based moonshine partner, Call Family Distillers, which is selling 1,600 commemorative bottles as part of this weekend's @NASCAR All-Star Race.

I’ll defend Bubba or anyone in the starting lineup on this if it had happened to them. Someone got on the team’s radio channel and started talking s**t directly to him, nothing racial but along the lines of “You don’t belong here, go away.”

What does that have to do with interview? Thats a whole other matter. And until its released it could be another fake news to pump up his falling stock. He has a bad temper and may have been hearing things for all we know. After the fake noose its hard to trust him.

Most of these drivers in this generation simply aren’t going to do a lot of beating and banging in these short track races. They are much more likely to just ride in line and depend on strategy to gain positions.
I think part of the change is so many cars changing sponsors every week. Back in the day Dale Gordon, etc ran the same main sponsor in almost if not every race, compared to now when you have "So-and-So Auto parts" only sponsoring for 1 or 2 races and that sponsor doesn't want their car to be out of it on lap 30 of 200. But don't get me wrong I think a lot of it is definitely coming from owners and a different driver mentality too.

Saw this. It’s left up to the imagination if it was racial. Guess you could take it that way, but it was really nothing out of the ordinary that would be said to someone that a fan didn’t like. The SJW would probably call it micro-aggression racism b/c they didn’t call him names, just told him to GTFO.
The race baiting is so easy in theses situations, but damn, he’s got to be one of the most unlikeable and fragile sob’s out there. It’s really strange when he puts on this front of trying to accept the villain role, never looking anyone in the eye, being arrogant, and trying to have the whatever attitude about it all. It really makes him look like a scumbag.
The reporters don’t help the situation either by the way. They’re protecting him like a fawn with one hand, then sticking a microphone in his face with the other.

Well lookie here, Bubba never even heard it. So his bird has zero to do with it. He just has a shitty attitude.
“NASCAR said it's looking into derogatory comments made toward Bubba on his radio channel after event. Bubba already had unhooked radio & didn't hear them. It happens occasionally that someone not with a team taps into and gets on a team's radio since they use public frequencies.”

Did he say it was directed at fans then? I saw him flip the bird live, and honestly thought he was just giving shite to a crew member or someone else off camera. We already know his attitude generally stinks, so this seems like much ado about nothing.
Ironically, Bubba has been running pretty well over the last several races, yet I noticed FOX recently removed him from their promotional graphics.

Does it matter who he directed it to? He was doing a live interview. Now, if somone had weecked him and he waited for their car to come around and gave bird, thats heat of moment in a race. But aftef a race he finishes 2nd is something else.
As for removing him, he’s toxic. Always has a crappy attitude. Race baiter during fake noose story. BLM supporter. Blames everyone else even though his teamate usually outdrives him every race (his 2nd was only due to track position gained in tire call early in race, just like Larson).
He has accomplished nothing in Nascar. Had a chance to be a great ambassador but went full race baiting during fake noose. Then tried to beat up an Asian in live TV. Then blames everyone after races. I would hope Nascar (TV) figured out having him in promos was chasing some fans away since he hasn’t done much of anything in the track.
Can’t wait for him to retire or leave the sport. Others deserved the seat over him.

Alright dude, we get that you don't like Bubba, but you have spent half a page melting over him, so either move on or leave the thread for a while.
