had the ball hit the ground, there would have been no way he could have kept possession with 1 hand like he did.

"When he had control"
When you make a diving catch and you then pin the ball against your facemask as you're rolling over afterwards, that is the first time you have control. The ground causes him to lose control of the ball, which is why he ends up having it pinned against his facemask.

Pull the still and show me where it hits the ground. The only time it touches the ground is when the tip hits & he still has control. That does not constitute incomplete.

That was some selective picture selection Lester. Come on now.

WGNO sports twitter posted a better video from a closer angle and I’m not sure the ball hits the ground…

The ball isn’t on the ground in either of those photos. Show me the when it hits the ground

He had the ball secured when he first hit the ground. It became loose after contact but it never hits the ground

None of this constitutes an incomplete pass

Yap, that’s exactly what I thought I saw in the other video. Great angle. That’s a catch.
I’d never expect a high school ref to get that right, to be fair

TA: Bad LHSAA officiating is a problem and catholic benefitted last week. But if you irrationally throw a fit no matter what, it makes it harder to get an official removed for bad calls when it's actually wrong.
Don’t complain stripe up

Also, from the first video and the angle the ref was seeing it, the receivers red gloves against the brown ball didn’t help matters

I can't see it for you, man. Here is another one, this time
from the WGNO video. Tip of the ball is in the ground, which is what causes it to pop up to where he regains control.

Ball is not on the ground. That is just what you want to see
Posted on 12/2/23 at 6:31 pm to Lester Earl
Problem is without replay the only view that matters is that of the covering official
Posted on 12/2/23 at 7:17 pm to Lester Earl
It's a catch. His gloves were under the ball. It never hit the ground.

Anyone see the Mandeville Ruston game? I am assuming they got out sized and too much speed?

Don’t have a dog in the fight but I can see how this could have went either way.

Agree
Instant replay would not have been enough to overcome the call on the field. Probably if was called a catch as well.

There is no way the official can see absolutely what happened. He was behind the play and shielded by the receivers body.

That’s not an accurate statement.

You are very wrong about the covering official. He’s the deep wing and is a good position to see the catch/no catch. He’s not behind it at all. I happen to think he got it wrong, but I’m not in a position to say he's right or wrong with any kind of certainty.
