Holy shite, biggest mistake I've ever seen Dixon make. He was trying to move left to get off the racing line for the next corner I guess.
Don't blame Power for being that angry.
Don't blame Power for being that angry.

Here's Power going after Dixon:

Less than 3 hrs to qualifying, both cars need extensive repairs.

Ganassi has to fix Palou's car too.

They say with the new surface that it's super smooth and has more grip, but there's been a ton of spins, and in-car cameras showing how busy they are on the steering wheels. Looks like a lot of cars need more setup work to find the balance in the new conditions. Maybe we'll see some surprises in qualifying.

In the first round, Group 1 of qualy, Dixon is out, he's gonna be starting P25!
In Group 2, Conor Daly's replacement at Carpenter Racing Ryan Hunter-Reay has a high speed shunt into the tires.
Red flag with just a few seconds left. But the group will be given one flying lap. Not looking good for Power, currently in P11, trying to make the top 6 to advance.
Edit: Power is starting P22! Power getting interviewed, he is bitter. Complaining about Dixon, and how punishing it is on their bodies when cars go off track at Road America. Then he goes OFF on Grosjean! I don't know what he was referring to.
Oh, they just showed it. In practice I think, on the high-speed back straight, Grosjean drifted across the track and blocked Power from passing him.

The first surprise is that AJ Foyt got both cars past the first round into the Fast 12 for the first time in many years.

OK here's Will Power on Romain Grosjean:

Edit: Here's the whole interview, where he starts by complaining about the track:

Whoever is in charge of the Indy Car schedule and time needs to be fired...I know I have only came back after many years off but one of my favorite races and one that I think would pull in random fans is going head to head with F1.

Watched the clip of the wreck, was this built up frustration with grosjean? Didnt seem like grosjean did anything wrong?

The crash Power had was with Dixon. The incident with Grosjean was on the back straight, Power was trying to pass and Grosjean weaved and blocked him; there was no contact. He probably just didn't see Power, but yeah it's definitely built-up frustration with Grosjean. Graham Rahal and I think Newgarden have very publicly complained about Grosjean at previous races as well, it appears that Grosjean has a bad reputation in the paddock for his driving style.

Power called Road America a shite track so the track president parked a loaded septic tanker truck in front of Will's motor home.

OK I like this USA broadcast. They show the race on half the screen when showing commercials. Waaay better than the NBC broadcasts.

Wow, Grosjean with yet another unforced error. Drops a wheel off the track braking for a corner and spins himself off the track and stalls.

There’s a reason… Ah, never mind

Will Power in the lead! After his incident-filled weekend and hilarious meltdown, it would be good to see him win the race.
Unfortunately he has to pit again.

It's Herta's race to lose, but Palou is the better overall driver. Nice matchup for the end of the race.

Palou to the lead. Don’t write off Newgarden in 3rd. Dude has a way of closing hard.
