100% agree. The stewards should do their investigation and make their decision within (something like) 20 minutes of an incident, and the teams should have no more than 10-15 minutes to report something that the stewards might have missed. Post-race penalties leave a bad taste in the mouth, this would be a way to mitigate them somewhat.

I agree to a point - I was watching the race on delay but saw the jack touch the car in real-time. Was surprised no one mentioned anything about it. There was also a mechanic that appeared to touch the halo during the 5 second penalty. The team should have noticed both potential infractions and told ALO to book it to cover the possible 10 secs.

Just don't touch the car.

Alonso has a right to bitch, but he screwed up the start and his team screwed up the stop. There aren't unlimited stewards to watch everyone's actions.

There should be stewards directly supervising anytime a penalty is being served.

There are, but doesn't mean they can see everything

Sucks for Alonso, but out of today it’s confirmed the RBs are rocket ships in a field of boats… absolutely incredible what they’ve done with that car

Yep, waiting to see what the FIA/F1 does to reign them in. Going to find some advantage and change it on them. Toto has mentioned ride height, so I am looking that area.

He's pretty much said as much.

Saying that, the smallest team in F1, by a lot, scored points today.

Now that there is a budget cap they may be able to improve overall operations to a point. The likelihood of them ever having their own wind tunnel is low, but I can see them building a bit more. Getting their own simulator would be a big step. They currently use Ferrari's but obviously can't be in there whenever they want.

Steiner, and others, has said that even with the cap it will take a number of years for the smaller teams to erode the infrastructure advantage the big three have.

What did F1 do the 7yrs Merc dominated? Don’t recall if anything.

Was glad to see RB take them down, but 2yrs is enough, glad AM is close.

It's astonishing to me that Mercedes has not fixed their car in the 2nd year of these rules, and a little less surprising that McLaren are going backwards. I don't think Red Bull are making any leaps, everyone else except Aston Martin is failing to keep up.

Jos is such a prick.

I don't know how anybody can root for Max, unless your are Dutch. Such an unlikable set of characters. Even on the Redbull side Horner and Helmut kinda act like dicks sometimes. Only person I like on that team is Newey. Just nothing but respect for him.

Engine modes and rake height were the two that come to mind. Tyre rules as well.

Shortened the floor in 2021 as I recall.

Allegedly Merc has a car in the tunnel that looks nothing like the current car. Who knows if that is true though. Even so, Merc isn't clawing 1.5seconds a lap this year.

I'm not really a RB fan, but the sport needs some assholes.

They're somehow different from Toto however. He's an a-hole that I don't care for.

Did anyone mention the Saudi national anthem earlier? That sounded like a middle school band, I couldn't stop laughing.

Will Lewis Hamilton ever win another F1 race?

No driver has won a race after their 300th race. Lewis had his 103rd victory back in 2021, and obviously hasn't won since.

I’m a fan of RBR, lean more to Max but like Checo as well.

It would have to be something personal, because Joe knows Checo is no threat to Max. This is not Nico vs Lewis. More like Bottas.

Lando needs to get out of that McLaren contract. Then we really see Jos lose it.
