Thats why he’s a winner. You have to twke risks and not be afraid of failure. Yes the easy thing to do is stay out and not get fastest lap. But that move to pit for fastest lap is why Max is a winner.

He is a great driver. His move after the first pit stop was smart, to time it for best use of DRS. Very calculated.

If the championship was even close he wouldn't have risked it.

That pit for fastest lap is RBR mentality

Aston Martin lodged a complaint to penalize more drivers.

Clown world.

Haha so there are more deleted laps than black/white flags?

How did race control not know this during the race.

Going to be hilarious when the order is really shaken up after hours.

Having over 100 penalties for the same thing tells you the penalty isn’t harsh enough.

Either get rid of it or increase penalty to 1 freebee and after that its a drive thru not a seconds penalty. A drive thru is a harsh penalty due to time it takes. If on last lap then 15 second time added on, or whatever the pit drive thru delta time is for that track.

I disagree. If close then all the more reason to risk it. That team is not afraid of risks. They let their drivers drive mostly without team orders. No doubt in my mind they would try to maximize points in a close points race

I kind of agree with AM here. It was shite show as far as track limit enforcement was concerned. They had sensors for this race, yeah? If so, it should be damn near real time notification to to the stewards. Sensor goes off. Human eyes confirm it with a quick replay. Decision made and communicated. Done.

Yes, it’s easy, but the FIA is more concerned with storylines than it is integrity.

The FIA handles motogp a lot more rigid, so not sure what is up with why they take this method with F1.

The FIA says there were 1200 times they had to look at potential track limit infringements and "prior to the submission of a Protest against the result, we had already begun a full review of the track limits infringements, which is ongoing"

"The results will be updated once the review of those which were not able to be reviewed during the race is complete"

The FIA also recommends gravel traps are installed on the exit of Turn 9 and Turn 10 #F1 #AustrianGP

This mess was predictable.

If many drivers are having a problem with track limits, it's not a driver problem, they need to make an adjustment to the track. It might be entertaining to see a sausage curb out there. Nah, the only solution is to put some gravel out there. I'd love to see the development of a really slippery paint surface so you can make a thin strip of slippery surface precisely placed a car width's away from the white line.

The most common of common sense is beyond the FIA’s reach.

Spike strips or land mines would work.

I'm guessing Lando drops to 6th unless Alonso also should have been penalized. I don't think AM would have brought the protest unless they were sure he was in the clear.

Lol, might work. Or put sensors out where if you trigger it by driving over at a certain point it decreases power to 80% for a lap. So many fixes but they need to come up with a solution before next year. I think harsher penalties would work best. And bigger rumble strips

Maybe an anti-drs. Exceed the limits and an air brake deploys for 5 seconds. Drag Boost System.

Honestly anything that just keeps the fricking stewards out of it.
