So Merc is moving ahead with their massive upgrades at Monoco because they take so much modification to execute that they can't be undone. Yikes, should be a fun drive.

I read that the other day.
Ballsy to risk all the upgrades on such a circuit. Figured they could have battled for the pole in their zero-pod since top speed doesn't really factor in.
Supposed to be a pretty large shift in direction.

Rain is a good thing.
It better be the lightest drizzle possible, because they’ve proven they aren’t interested in racing in rain anymore.

Special McLaren livery for Monaco and Spain. Should be easy to see at the rear of the pack.

If you don't think the last two washouts weren't justified I'm not sure what to tell you. They were floods, not rain and the one before that at Spa wasn't much better.
Last year at Monaco was a bit of a clown show with the rain. I'll give you that.

Found an article from May 2021, the last overtake for the lead at Monaco was in 1996.
Was there one in 2021 or 2022? I dont remember.
I just want to see if the RB19 is powerful enough to overtake cars in the straight

I just want to see Checo frick Max in quali again and then watch the melt.

Normally do not like rain as a fan but this year it seems almost necessary to slow Red Bull down and somewhat even the playing field. The thing about Monaco is that these cars are so long these days has to be so much different on this turns compared to the much shorter cars. All I n all Monaco seems kind of like a novelty just like Wimbledon is to tennis on the grass.

Nice. Honda being in F1 is good for the sport.

Lawrence is making all the right moves. Now he just needs to dump his son and he'll be cooking with gas
wonder if the team name changes to Aston Martin-Honda?

I actually like Lance way more than I thought I would a few years ago.

For a pay driver his racecraft is remarkable.
Look at Goatifi and Mazespin

Lawrence Stroll was seen as just a rich guy giving his son an opportunity to be an F1 driver.
Aston Martin's hiring of Vettel, and then Alonso, and their rise this year, and Honda signing on to the team is quite an endorsement of how serious Lawrence is about working towards a championship-contending team. But there is some cognitive dissonance here. He can't be both super-serious about winning championships and guarantee his son a seat. If Honda made a deal with him, he must have agreed to put the two best available drivers in the seats, right?
Lance has developed into an middling driver, but he's been around long enough that we know his potential. Even in his 4th year he got his arse handed to him by Pérez, who is a good driver but I don't think he's considered in the top tier. (Pérez is like Bottas, Barrichello, Coulthard. A guy who can win races in a top car, but they don't win championships.)
2017 Williams: Massa 43 Lance 40
2018 Williams: Lance 6 Sirotkin 1
2019 Racing Point :Pérez 52 Lance 21
2020 Racing Point: Pérez 125 Lance 75
2021 Aston Martin: Vettel 43 Lance 34
2022 Aston Martin: Vettel 37 Lance 18 (Vettel missed the first two races)
2023 Aston Martin: Alonso 75 Lance 27 (After 5 races)

Lance shows very brief flashes of great driving, but they are not sustained and are far out-shadowed by his blunders. As long as Papa has one good driver and a decent car, he can still make money and provide a job for his son in the cockpit.

Assuming Alonso is still driving and I definitely hope so.

Pirelli should bring a tire that lasts about 5 laps. A 3 or 4 stopper would make for an interesting race
