F1 going to reschedule Imola, or is it toast this year ?

No decision yet, but seems like it will be toast.

No logical place on the calendar.

Monaco weather forecast calls for higher than 50% chance of light rain all week.

James Hunt overtook 4-5 cars at the start of the 74 Monaco Grand Prix.

The cars are just too big now for the circuit. It's a parade now and has been for so many years.

Qualifying is the highlight of the weekend every year IMO.

Is there a chance the size of the cars are decreased in the future?

I doubt it. I'm not a tech guy but I imagine it has to do with aero and safety.

Safety and the survival cells is what I have heard really leads to the size. The ICE is smaller, but those battery packs will keep getting larger.

IMO the cars are fine. We need better tracks.

I feel like I'm one of the few people that still appreciates the race itself, yes there's little on-track overtaking but it's the one race where not getting all the other details right can really burn a team. Positions can be gained or lost with good/bad pitstops, botched or clever strategy calls, overcuts/undercuts, bad outlaps, etc. I also just enjoy seeing these drivers threading the needle through the tight track where the smallest of mistakes can result in a crash.

Found an article from May 2021, the last overtake for the lead at Monaco was in 1996.

Was there one in 2021 or 2022? I dont remember.

And when they do screw it up it isn't like losing Spain or even Spa.

You lost Monaco, that shite hurts.

Lando lost Russia, which sucks because he may never see a GP win, but if it were Monaco it would be hella worse.

Pure on-track overtake? No.

Ferrari strategy blunder pitting LeClerc out of the lead? Yes.

Off the top of my head

Ferrari screwed Leclerc
RBR let Danny Ric down with a pit
Merc got Bottas with the wheel nut (not the lead)
Merc called Lewis in from the lead with about 3 laps to go (2016/7?)

The only we miss out on with rain are bikinis and we only get to see very little of them (get it?).

So I'm ok with rain.

If we are asking, start dry, then sprinkle, then dry up.
