Tournament should be starting tomorrow night at 7:00 eastern, mostly on ESPN2, some on ESPN, and replays on Tennis Channel. Rafa is sitting at 22 majors and defending champ. Nine time champ Novax is back and has 21 majors. Draw looks brutal for Rafa and favorable for Djokovic. Djokovic is -115 or so to win the tournament, Medvedev +650, then everyone else +1600 plus.
The defending champ on the women's side is, well, retired. Does Iga continue to roll? I don't think so. Pegula or somebody in that tier breaks through IMO. Let's get it on for the Happy Slam.
Men's singles draw.

In terms of Americans, Fritz has a really good draw.

Good call. Basilashvili first round can be nasty, but he should go on a run if he gets through that.

I’ll take novak. He would have won last year for sure.

Have an upvote for starting a tennis thread .. tennis was once a great American sport.. Some of the finest men America has ever produced were into tennis, men like Eastwood, Selleck and Charlton Heston.. Now for some reason everyone seems to be into golf.. We need to bring back tennis !

For years, ive been thinking Taylor Fritz was on the verge of breaking out.. now he’s in the top ten, and is the highest ranked American male- so maybe this year he finally will .

Novak in this year?
I'm shocked woke-arse Australia allowed unvaccinated Novak in the country.

Ok good.
That shite pissed me off last year.
Was happy to see Kyrigos win doubles last year.

Is it just me or is Sinner not being talked about at all going into the tourney?

Kyrgios finally opens the slam season ranked again and got a good draw with Rublev being his toughest opponent, but would likely meet Novak in the quarters.
I really want him to win in Melbourne just to see the celebration afterwards.

Coco won her match. She's moving on to the next round.
