And for Colorado that extra point is massive. They’ve got work to do, but it sounds like EJ and Landeskog could be ready for a playoff run.

While I don’t think they’re as good as last year without a 2C like Kadri, there’s probably no doubt in this - no one wants to see a healthy Colorado in the playoffs.

EDIT: add in Lehky for a playoff run. Good God these injuries have been nuts for the Avs.

He had his back turned. And thought the Wild player intentionally hit him well after the goal.

If it was anybody else I would give benefit of doubt but Binnington has been a loose cannon going over a year now he’s just looking for a fight it’s distracting his play and his team

He got knocked out of the playoffs last year when Kadri slid into him. He had his back turned after the goal. And Hartman could have easily avoided hitting him after the goal. But he didn't. Blues were already playing like crap. It's not a distraction. I'm glad the Wild won. Just keep on stacking the ping pong balls. It's time to embrace the suck.

Still was an entirely clean play by Kadri.

I don't think Kadri meant to do it either. But I don't fault Binnington for standing up for himself anytime someone runs into him in the crease the way Hartman did.

Binnington suspended for two games. I hadn’t seen it until now, with watching NHLs explanation for the suspension, but Hartman wasn’t in the crease whatsoever and the contact was completely incidental.

Binnington needs to get his shite together and his antics are becoming ridiculous.

He could have easily skated away after the goal to avoid the contact. But he didn't. Hextall or Belfour would have done the exact same thing.

He was skating on a straight line to the guy who set him up for the goal to celebrate and it was Binnington continuing to spin out of his crease that caused the contact.

All things together over the past year makes the suspension needed because Binnington has been toeing the line for a bit, and this was all on him.

EDIT: and in watching the replay there wasn’t even a need for Binnington to come out of his crease like that.

Hartman had plenty of time after the goal to skate away towards the slot to avoid Binnington. He chose not to. Then the fracas ensued. It was unnecessary contact that easily could have been avoided.

He was skating toward the guy that fed him. That's a totally normal thing.

Binnington stuck his leg out, Hartman kept his line.

Pretty clear cut.

Binnington didn't stick his leg out. He had his back turned before the contact.

Now chalk that up to one of the weirdest goals you’ll ever see if it stands for Colorado.

Looked like an icing that wasn’t because it came back in the crease and was touched by the G. Looks like he covered the puck, but the whistle never blew (and as an Avs fan, 100% should’ve been). Sogaard let up, Lars Ellar punched it in.

Correct. With sliding to a spot on the ice that is not solely his, when it wasn’t needed and wasn’t continuation from his attempted save. With Hartman doing nothing more than you see several times every night with scores in the circle and momentum carrying the scorer towards the net.

I get what you’re saying about what Binnington thought (well, he’s shown himself to be a petulant child so maybe only a little), but that doesn’t change that fault lies solely with him.

And here’s the last thing I’ll say on it because it’s clear your mind is made up. You’re faulting Hartman for taking a straight line in a good range outside of the crease to the guy who made a great pass that set up the goal. He wasn’t looking at Binnington, Binnington was doing something that isn’t normal.

Yet, because Hartman was doing what we see all the time without issue and Binnington was doing something we typically don’t - you want to fault Hartman for not paying attention, but not Binnington for not paying attention.

Because Binnington had his back turned away from Hartman after the goal. He didn't stick his leg out trying to trip Hartman. He doesn't have eyes in the back of his head. Hartman had plenty of time after the goal to not skate right through the crease to make contact. He could have easily skated further away to celebrate with his teammates. Especially with other Blues skaters there.
