I just cheer for Team Penske. Been following Cindric through Xfinity a bit so he may end up being my #1, but I like Blaney as well. No comment on Joey :D

Not a lot of exciting racing today. These cars just handle too well at Daytona at these speeds. Time to unleash them and let them go 220! Too bad we are going in the opposite direction from that!

I have drivers I root against:
Denny
Joey
I even pull for Bubba despite how he gets covered. His bullshite he said in his interview today almost makes me want to add a third driver to my list. He’ll stay off of it for now.

I saw they got all the way to 190 with a 15 car draft. Ridiculous.
Earnhardt had it right years ago when he said; "Move the fans back and take the plates off."

Who do you guys cheer for as far as drivers go?
I like Harvick, Briscoe, and Chase Elliot.

Who do you guys cheer for as far as drivers go? I’ve been struggling to cheer for one specific driver since most of the names I used to know are gone.
I have an odd mix.
Dale Jr’s old drivers from back when I followed the sport heavily. (I took a little break for awhile) So I still pull for Keselowski, Truex.
Chase Briscoe and Kyle Busch because them and their wives have struggled with fertility, like me and mine. People that have gone through IVF are in a club I feel like.
Harvick. Always been a bad arse
RCR guys are cool with me. Dillon has turned into a respectable driver. Reddick is wheel man.
Pull against Denny because he’s just a total douche.

Harvick, keselowski, and truex

Keselowski has been my guy for the last 15ish years (even coming up through Nationwide series), so naturally I followed him over to the 6 car. I've always side cheered for Front Row because they seem to improve little by little every year, plus they have a truck team to cheer for.
I still like Penske though, but its like salt on an open wound seeing the 2 car in victory lane today - I wont lie.

They’ll never do it, and as much as it is about safety, the real reason is they can’t quit pack racing at Daytona and Dega.
A lot of the risk of higher speeds have been mitigated by HANS device and safer barrier. If they were running 200-210 and spread out, is that really less safe than 180 in a pack with guaranteed big wrecks?

Those cars wrecking at 220 would go into the stands at Dega and Daytona.

Those are my favorite tracks. Though I’m biased. I’ve only been to races at two nascar tracks. They just happen to be the most similar. I grew up an 1r and some change from Daytona. My dad used to take me and my brother to most of the Nascar races in Daytona. Then when I was college, I went to a race at Talladega. I love those high bank super-speedways.
I’m trying to take a trip to another track this season. I’d like to go to a short track, but open to any suggestions. What’s a great fan experience as far as tracks go? What’s the bucket list of tracks to go to?

Darlington
Wife and I have been there twice. It's basically like a college town. The town is built around the track.
You can feel the sand from the track hit you when the cars go by.

For a short track, I will be surprised if anyone says anything other than the Bristol night race.

Good suggestion. I usually like the Darlington race. The track seems to be pretty challenging. I imagine Bristol is pretty cool. Has anyone ever been to road course race. I can’t imagine liking it compared to the view of the race you get with an Oval track.

Darlington is the one track I want to go to more than any other. Also would like to go to the Bristol night race.

I pull for Chase Elliott.
I also like Brad and surprisingly like you, have come around on Kyle Busch. Used to hate his guts, always respected his driving talent though. But as he's mellowed out over the years he's become extremely likable and he has an aggressive style and doesn't give a frick if you like him or not
But growing up I was an Earnhardt(RIP) fan, then naturally went to Junior and also pulled for Tony Stewart. I became a fan of his when he came to NASCAR but really became a fan after Dale died. So it was Junior and Smoke for me. Then after they retired I needed someone to fill the void so I started pulling for Chase.
Growing up here in Georgia I heard about how good he was even as a tyke (and he was, his talent was obvious from an early, early age) and it only felt right to start pulling for him b/c he is from here. Him and Larson are gonna carry the sport for the next 15 years

They are the 2 most universally loathed drivers on here. And it's not particularly close.

I live less than 20 minutes from the track.
