Good points. I don’t know if Hamlin gained positions or if he had a valid reason.
He missed Turn 1. Continued on and took the access road. He came out 26th instead of dead last. He spun out later in the same lap.

The way to fix turn 1 is to move the restart line close to turn 1 or have it be the last turn (which is used for quali) Keep the finish line same just move start area so its not a crash fest.
As for comments who took Chase out it was his team mate #24 who bonzi dived with no room and hit the #12 who clipped Chase. Otherwise we would have had a great finish between him and Reddick.
Road coarse is much better than oval. On oval only 1 groove in corners and tailing car can’t get close enough to pass down straights. Its fixable (road course) with some start line changes
About the down voter I’ve noticed they are mostly done later not earlier so suspect they are west coasters. From what I’ve seen they’ve done it all through thread it used to be just 1 now appears they have a sock/alter account to get 2. Just deduct 2 and theres your scoring.

That fix only works for 1 lap.

So he takes long way around avoids wreck but not told illegal in driver meeting
Is that what is being said?
The fact NASCAR has zero foresight into this situation is why this series is currently such a joke.

Kevin Harvick's response when told five drivers are to blame for the pileup that resulted in him spinning out.....

I’d always try the big shortcut at rainbow road.

I might have missed something, but I listened to the race and post race on XM and they seemed to paint it that drivers were informed the access road could be used to avoid wrecks or if ran off course, but not to advance position. Ross was in fifth and his only options were to brake and follow 2-4, run into 1 too hard and wreck 2-4, or not even attempt the turn and take the access road. He went from the back bumper of the fourth place car to ahead of the 8 who had a near perfect 1 and 2 and had jumped out to a 5 car length lead. By just avoiding turn 1 altogether Ross made up a minimum of 7 car lengths.
If there is something I missed that's came out then please do share. There were a lot of callers with the same sentiment of the quoted on the shows, but the hosts were pretty grounded in what was communicated, and that Ross knew it or he would have applied the bumper to the 8 when he had the chance if he thought he was actually not black flagged. I like Ross and have been a WatermelonMan fan since he was in the Niece truck, but the "wreck" he used the access to avoid would have been one caused by him driving in too deep to get a run and causing it. That and gaining 7 car lengths and 4 positions is black flag worthy. If he brakes normally and uses his talent to pick off the young guys in front of him he finishes P2 or P3.

Move both the Xfinity and Cup Races up the road to IRP. Put another short track back on the schedule and have something that will put on a good show. That's the best way to fix the race weekend IMO.
NASCAR won't do that though. They will add street courses and road courses by no short tracks, which is really what the fans would like to see.
IRP would be amazing to watch with the Cup Cars.

I kind of like that corner on the track like it is. Without that corner every poster here would be posting about how boring the race was. Instead it was wild and crazy. Like stuffing 10 pounds of boudin in a 5 pound sack.

Seeing social media posts that Buddy Arrington has passed at 84. One of the legendary old-school independents.

Early audition.
If Gragson doesn't get a cup ride in '23, RCR needs to grab him. I don't know if he will be competitive in cup or not, but the guy will be a star with his personality and driving style if he can just win every now and then.
