I know some will be there. Not sure how many, but I did get confirmation that there will at least be a few.

Perez may be on the pole but I'm figuring on the Ferraris for the race. Perhaps with Max challenging them.
Perez has never impressed me with his race pace other than making the car wide when needed.

Someone just had the stat that all 4 world champions were out qualified by their teammates tonight.

Look at this handful of opposite lock

We sometimes get jaded looking at lap times but pull out your phone and try to start and stop the stopwatch in anything like .025 seconds. We think of .3 seconds as real time in hand over a teammate. It is amazing how close these cars and drivers are.

Sure, the tail came out with the left turn, but now that he has to turn right around this corner, is it really opposite lock?

Mick pulled out of tomorrow's race. No second car for Haas.
Pic of his removal from the car. Hard to see, but it doesn't look like they removed him while still in his seat.

Especially when you consider that gap is over 4-5 miles of circuit and the engineering teams designing them are in different countries and belong to different teams and many times speaking different languages.

As a Merc fan, I can only hope Max tangles with one of the Ferraris at the start of the race, with the other Ferrari and Perez fighting for 1-2 and Russell and Alonso challenge for the final podium spot, with Hamilton finishing in the points. Looks like it will be a long season for Mercedes.

I almost added an asterisk but was curious if anyone would question the characterization.

In looking at the lap times over all three Q sessions what I find amazing is the top 4 all generally had pretty substantial gains while the rest stayed pretty much the same for the most part.
Perez picked up a second from Q1 to Q3.

Mag's neck isn't up to it.
If he's wiped after qualifying the race is going to be a challenge.

“My neck just broke in Q3. I just couldn’t drive anymore.
“It’s tough for that, when you’ve been out of a Formula 1 car for a year and then a track like this.
“Great track, nothing towards the track, but I’m just not prepared for it.”
Magnussen – who will be the sole Haas driver in the race, with Mick Schumacher sidelined – joked he would need some “magic” from his physio tonight but is worried about how he’ll cope in the grand prix.
Starting 10th, he has a good chance of following up his surprise fifth place finish in Bahrain with another points finish.
“You can rest your head on the headrest, but you lose so much feeling on the car and also visually you’re looking in the wrong direction so it’s not great,” said Magnussen.
“And that’s what I was forced to do because my neck just wouldn’t hold.
“So yeah, the car was great, I think the car had a P5 in it but I only had a P10.”

I imagine everyone else was running their engines in qualy mode from the beginning since they are so bunched up after RB and Ferrari, the latter didn't turn it up until crunch time.

The most brutal comment I have read today:
Lewis, this is James.
I think today was an anomaly but I think it is reasonable to yuck it up. MSC and Vettel got plenty after their runs.

Tire strategies might be interesting tomorrow.

That is awesome for checo. Hopefully both bulls don’t fail again.

What does that mean? I didn't quite get it.
