Well I had decided I was going to stay up to watch the race. Wanted to see max win the championship live. But now the weather looks so bad, there is concern about even getting the race in.

Hmm. I too had debated staying up. I guess I'll check in about 11 and see what the consensus is.

Gotta appreciate that because if F1 I could break news that North Korea launched a suspected ballistic missile

F1 is more about missile tracking than racing these days

My plan is to stay up. My uncle Beam is trying to convince me to go to bed early.

Espn 2, pregame starts in 30 minutes

Surprised there are no support races; or at least support races aired.

Saw someone claim Merc has no inters. That would be hilarious.

*I think they should have at least one set but that's not enough for a whole race if wet throughout.

I thought they had unlimited wet/inter tires?

Only given a certain amount, but not sure how one team would be so out of sorts than the others.

Not sure anyone has run anything but inters

Pirelli will be skewered if some teams are running full wets because they dont have the supply.

For a start, each driver can use a maximum of 13 sets of dry-weather tyres for the full three-day weekend. The allocation of slicks is broken down by compound, so each driver gets two hard sets, three medium sets and eight soft sets. Jul 27, 2022

Merc must have distributed their allocation incorrectly.

You quoted dry tires. Not inters/wets

It is something like 4 sets of inters and 4 of full wets.

Been forever since this was an issue.

Pirelli should have had a plane in the air today to solve this problem.

Each team gets 13 sets of dry tyres to use over the weekend – two sets of hards, three mediums and eight softs. They also get four sets of intermediate tyres and three sets of full wets.

If either of the Friday practice sessions, FP1 or FP2, are wet or the Saturday morning session, FP3, looks likely to be wet, teams get another set of inters to play with – but they must give back a used set before the start of qualifying.

Merc used multiple sets of inters Friday. I don't thinkk they are out like some are claiming, but they don't have as many sets as the rest of the teams.

It's not Pirelli's problem. Merc used 3 or 4 sets of inters on Friday.

Pirelli isn't out of tires that I've seen. Anywhere.

I can't think they are much worse than anyone else then.

Just scanning twitter, there is a quote from Horner that says RBR used 1 set of inters for each of their drivers and Merc used 3.
