I think this was about the review of team budgets from the 2021 season that's supposed to come out this weekend. One team was rumored to be way over(Red Bull) and another to just be slightly over(Aston Martin).

This was about last year. Rumor was, would F1 fine RB points and thusly take away his 21 title and hand it to Ham sandwich. There were insiders who thought that could happen.

Since it was way less than reported that will never happen. Sports like football don’t go backwards and change results for good reasons. Nascar will by Tue of following week at most, if they find something bad.

To me F1 has the info and should only react quickly if they decide to do anything. A season later is way too late. Precendence would mean each years title winner might have it taken away the next year.

Imagine the pushback from fans and betting houses not willing to pay bets until title is certified the following year. Thats just a few of many reasons you can’t go back in time and change.

COTA chairman Bobby Epstein says that he's no longer interested in selling the track amid F1's growing popularity in America.

"Certainly, several years ago, with COVID, there was a time where we would have been happy to sell the track alone."

Last years budget.

RBR said they weren't over and allegedly there was some discrepancies on salaries paid to the engine works side for work done on the car side.

I don't know any legitimate pundit who thought they would change the past for a budgey cap infringement.

This x100. And Montreal isn't 95 degrees either. Easy in and out with the rail system.

Youd be amazed what ESPN F1 can write. Did Merc include them on their cap numbers?

No idea who was supposed to be included. According to Marko if RBR was supposed to include them it would be a small budget infringement.

The Daily Mail article referenced on the last page doesn't say much or give any details different than what we knew over the weekend. Just more 'sources'

Speaking of sources. The rumors started today of Kimi doing a stint of road courses with Indy next year.

OK not F1 news per se, but some Brasilian journalist of all people is reporting that Kimi Räikkönen is in "advanced talks" with Chip Ganassi to share a car with Jimmie Johnson next year in IndyCar.

https://twitter.com/fabio_seixas/status/1577285260429365248

In 2022, his 2nd year, Jimmie continued to struggle with the road and street courses, but he was very good on the ovals. At the end of the season he announced that he is "retiring from full-time racing." I assumed that meant he still wanted to race the IndyCar ovals, and this rumor would fit those plans perfectly since one would figure that Kimi would only be interested in IndyCar for the road and street courses.

I think Kimi would have a lot of fun and IndyCar could really use the jolt in fan interest worldwide that this would create.

Edit: Whoops, didn't see your note about Kimi.

There is a theory that F1 was better with fewer races. More of a spectacle, almost more intriguing / mysterious. Thoughts?

I can agree with that, too much of a good thing isn't always a good thing, oversaturation can happen.

I just checked the times for this weekend, I don't think I'll be awake to watch any of this.

Central Times..
FP1: Thursday 10pm
FP2: Friday 1am
FP3: Friday 10pm
Quali: Saturday 1am
Race: Sunday 12am

Kimi raced here at SIR a few years back with IMSA and/or WEC. He was a big hit with the fans. If I'm not mistaken he even went over to Green Park and partied with some folks.

Would like this bubble to burst, Ill take Max winning every race by ten seconds for the rest of this yr and next. People give up going for stupid prices and I can return. Before anyone calls me broke, I can buy a ticket at this year's prices and not feel the effect, but I also think anything for that kind of money for an event is stupid.

I went last year to COTA and dont feel the need to go to another race in person. They are fun and all, but I kind of enjoy watching on my couch.

Well, if it were just races, sure. But, this has turned into a music festival event with races at the event:

- Green Day
- Ed Sheeran
- DJ Diesel aka Shaquille O'neal
- Post Malone

Plus,

29 other music groups
