If Merc tried to double stack George would have been the one that got fricked IMO

in fairness though George made the call. He insisted on softs

still need to pit both or none of them in that scenario

I agree with the announcers, though. Seems that decision was best for George, but rejecting it was best for Mercedes so why didn’t the team tell him no?

Only thing better than a max win is a merc meltdown.

Crofty acts like Hamilton hasn’t ever benefited from a Saftey Car. Dude is so butthurt.

I want to see the Russell/Hamilton cool down room.

Russell needs to pull out the PowerPoint and show Hamilton how strategy works.

Crofty calling the safety car unfair.

No way Merc let's Bottas make that call last year for example. The way Max finished that last stint though... It wouldn't have mattered. He was flying.

I think if Russell stayed out, it would have been Merc 3-4 instead of 2-4. Ham needed to get into the pit as well for softs.

Yea I guess I don’t really know the dynamics as just started following the sport, but I think of tires and box decisions as things that the manager decides not the driver. There are all sorts of times a coach makes a decision in other sports that the player doesn’t like but o well.

I guess it’s different for this sport, though, given how individual-focused the sport is.

The chances of them winning were small, if you think you had no chance Merc should have pitted both for softs. I guess they can catch ferrari in the constructors, if not you might as well YOLO and go for the win and leave two cars in front.

What’s the discussions about the VSC and pitting? Are they saying they shouldn’t be allowed to pit?

That’s exactly what Crofty is saying.
