Spa must not be removed from the calendar - it would be a CRIME. Y'all better watch this weekend because it's the pinnacle of the sport. Senna (R.I.P.) at Spa pictured.

The only race I'm watching this weekend is the Ice Man at The Glen.

.
@MGMResortsIntl is planning to buy $20-25 million worth of @F1LasVegas tickets from @F1 so that it can create hotel+event packages for next year's race, per CEO Bill Hornbuckle.
?? He said rooms may cost three times their usual rate and packages could retail for up to $100,000.
Vegas is going to be $$$$$$$$$ for anyone
I did receive an email yesterday from MGM asking if I wanted to sign up for information on their Vegas F1 packages. I said yes, and the options were luxury, mid-luxury, and value. I signed up for all three

Maybe I'm just overreacting but I read stuff like that and can't help but shake my head a bit, to me it feels like F1 going the way of Nascar years ago.
Chasing a new batch of fans with deep pockets and (unknowingly to them) short attention spans in what feels like a massive money grab. Setting up these new street circuits that just don't have the same feel as some of their historical circuits that they're going to let fall to the side. What's going to happen in 5-10 years when F1 loses a bit of it's shine and being at F1 Miami or Vegas is no longer the hot place to be on Instagram? Can they hold on to these people that are willing to drop the coin long term? Will the long time fans not looking to drop several thousand $$ on a race weekend eventually just lose interest?

Im going but i dont plan on buying a ticket. Just going to get a hotel room, if possible one that just overlooks the blvd. and then experience the whole spectacle. Worse case scenario, i still have to watch it on a TV but the whole weekend will be crazy.

Irrelevant, there will be 15-20 hotels along the circuit. The weekend is gonna be a BLAST! I believe it will begin to draw like SBowl and MMadness.

All good!
I just like to frick with people who ask simple questions instead of doing a 3 second search for the info.

Kimi was taking some laps in a Camaro ZL1 at The Glen last weekend during a Porsche HPDE meet. Getting to know the track a bit I'd say. Took his wife and kids for a spin as well.
Posted here as well as the Nascar thread as there probably isn't a ton of crossover.
