Geez, this sounds like a batshit crazy shakeup...

In my mind, the only moves I really saw taking place was Ric being out at McLaren and potentially a Yuki move. I mean there's always Latifi, but he kind of just goes under the radar.

For Zhou to be out, would have to be a swap and to make room for other moves. He's been pretty solid. I'd take him over Yuki.

That guy spent at least $2K in team merchandise, then he does Gunther.

So if this happened who is the better driver using Haas stable?

MAG or RIC

Mag has time in seat plus chemistry with team.

And if no changes made to race day strategists then would RIC even take it?

So Haas either has another driver or Mick has another team.

There are Schu fanboys on the autosport forum that claim Mick has been faster than KMag all year.

He has been improving but he isn't there yet.

Zhou surprises me. He's seemed solid and has had some very bad luck in a few races.

Yeah, I don't think he's done that badly for a rookie in a so-so car. He had some shite luck or else he'd be higher in the standings.

They're smoking crack. Schu Jr. has had a couple bright moments (battle with Max at Silverstone being one of them), but Kmag has run all over him.

I doubt Ric has completely lost it. The issue is is it the supposedly odd to drive McLaren or is it the ground effects?

I wouldn't mind him in Mick's place on a show me deal. And I don't even care for the guy. He's just proven to be a good driver in the recent past.

Man I have a hard time seeing this happening. Unless it's the other way around and he wants out. Just for money reasons alone, not even the driving.

Can Haas afford to let Schumi go? Isn't he the linchpin in a lot of their current sponsorship money?

I'm hoping for a big sponsorship announcement during the break. They just don't seem concerned about it for some reason though, while not running anywhere near the budget cap.

1&1 supposedly has a $10 or 15 million deal that is contingent on a German driver. ie Mick. eta-Note in publicity pics he is the one wearing a 1&1 hat. Mag never does.

And supposedly Ferrari pays Mick's salary, so a driver change to someone not sponsored by Ferrari would be a pretty big swing that would need to be covered one way or another.

Just seems like the only team with an American flag on their car could drum up some sponsorship dollars from that alone... it's odd.

Exactly.

But if Gene doesn't show a willingness to push the team higher would you put $30-40 million into the pot to have your name on the car?

I'd say RIC, but they may be pretty even.

I would put my money on RIC heading back to Alpine though if they cut bait with Piastri. Alpine doesn't have a backup plan, and unless they go hard on Gasly I don't know what the other option is. Or what option is better than Gasly/RIC.

Being a German with Ferrari connections maybe Mick is a shoe-in for Alfa/Sauber with the rumored Audi takeover coming.

Ferrari can get him a seat, Audi want a German.

So many assumptions can be drawn in silly season.

I think with so many American viewers tuning in, the right company could find some value from it, but I think the team would have to make some decisions (like driver lineup) with entertainment in mind. Americans like a winner, but you don't have to win to get them to tune in if you are at least entertaining. Haas is neither really atm.
