In a perfect F1 world, as defined by yours truly, all teams would use the same chassis and PU
This would be IndyCar, derided by F1 fans as a "spec series," which it is (mostly). F1 is literally the opposite, a technical series where each team tries to design the best car. This is what defines F1.
quote:
tires would not degrade enough to affect performance
In the real world, tires degrade and managing tire wear is one of a driver's most important skills. However, back in the days of refueling, running light fuel loads and doing more pit stops was the fastest way to finish a race, so a return to refueling would give you the conditions you want: all-out sprints between pit stops without worrying about preserving the tires.

and the driver with the best RACECRAFT would be crowned WORLD DRIVER CHAMPION.
You are correct, a series where the driver is the biggest factor in winning races makes the most sense. If you truly want a driver's championship, then IndyCar is the series you should watch. F1 will always be a technical series where the car is the primary determinant of who is going to win races.

I’m tired of these “at Horners house” interviews…

It’s a sky thing since they’re UK. It’s why he does mid race interviews with them. Pretty sure sky and RB have a deal for this access.

Understand, but no different than when always talked to Toto, I had issues with that too.
Wish they’d spread the love some more.
Horner cam off very magnanimous in that interview.

Gunther on now. I can’t understand anything he’s saying though.

Max just coming off as a straight shooter guy in his little bit.
Max: This year is fun because I respect Ferrari and have a good relationship with people in the team, we had a laugh at dinner Saturday night.
Interviewer: so last year wasn’t as fun with Mercedes?
Max: I wouldn’t be sitting at table on Saturday night with them.
Guess Mercedes beating the piss out of everyone for 7 years impacted some people.

quote:I think it's more that there was quite a bit of shite flinging between merc and RB last year and a bitterly disputed title fight with a controversial final result. This year hasn't had much controversy so the drivers delicate feelings remain relatively uninjured so far.

quote:I never said they should pay a top driver, I just said that Max or Lewis would have that car finishing higher up the grid.
So, assuming they could get a legendary top driver, they would finish the year at 9th instead of 10th and have an $50MM swing to pay a top driver versus take a pay driver?
They are a farm team, they need to target young driving talent to get a couple to three years out of them before they move to a big team.

So potential rain coming at some point. Tire strategy decision on the horizon.
Wonder what team screws this up.
Also, never forget this was last year.

Bottas was the best teammate Hamilton ever had, according to Lewis. Their relationship is still great.
Bottas never really challenged Hamilton either. Makes it easier to have dinner and laugh with your opponent when they are 2nd, but a distant 2nd.
Lewis did admit this week that Alonso was the most talented teammate he had.

It really is like we are being robbed of the mystery of how they will do it.

Alonso is a beast, gained a lot of respect for him last year and him not being as much of a dick.
Dude is consistently right behind the top tier this year… always seems to be 5/6 in starting.

Ham's engineer still refers to Botass as Valtteri on the radio. Everyone else is last name.
The sky looks like it could rain at any time.
Reports from the track of a little drizzle.
eta-And pretty windy. Could cause problems. Especially into 2.
