Looking at the replay it doesn't appear Schu's car was damaged and he didn't say that it was on the in car.

Was not touched to cause the spin either.

What a shitty drive from him.

Starting to think Qualifying and Sprints are most exciting part of the sport.

Are you new to this? Not being a jerk, serious question. Quali is often more exciting.

In fairness, the lack of DRS for most of the race made for somewhat of a boring, methodical race. Ferrari not really challenging was a huge letdown.

True but also when there is a DRS train and everyone has it, net result is same. See Hamilton today even after DRS.

This is the race expected when these F1 cars returned to Imola.

What are everyone’s thoughts on the new formula so far? Do you think it has improves overtaking?

I like it. Packs the field together much more. The strategy change has been fun to watch. Allows for more overtaking attempts which will result in more interesting overtakes.

What happened today was probably more based on the track than the formula.

I think it's allowed cars to run closer without burning up the fronts on the following car so that's definitely a plus

Just finished watching. Charl was just trying to be too clever and it cost him big. He did a good job of salvaging points, but the Tifosi are going to be butthurt tonight.

Good to see Ferrari is still masters of strategy.

Unless Charl has a race where he can’t finish I just don’t see anyone surpassing him in the drivers championship he is to good in that car.

The constructors cup to me is going to be a closer battle.

Still a long way to go. Mclaren has gone from backmarker with an underpowered engine to a solid third in just 2 races.

it wasn't a strategy issue. Charles just tried to get too much, too fast and bounced himself all over the corner. Sainz' was simply run into. No shame there.

Don't worry. Ferrari has the horsepower to make all of their decisions look like genius moves.

meh, im thinking they conceded the first race and saved the better engines for later races in the season. It's not like they turned it around overnight.

Time for Ferrari to turn that engine up a notch or two if they have more in the bank as they alluded to earlier in the season.

I guess, will just have to take you at your word, then? Who did you take your Heat Transfer and CFD classes at LSU with - Prof. Keith Gothier, Prof. Sumanth Acharya?

Considering I used to work for Corvid and helped develop a lot of the CFD for their automotive department, I’d say I’m a fairly reliable source.

Anyways, yeah I was a Gonthier student for thermo and fluids. Did my graduate work at Clemson though.

There’s not an amount of money I’d go back into automotive CFD for though. It’s so unbelievably boring.
