In a another few weeks the Williams will just be all naked carbon fiber. It is kinda funny watching them strip a couple of hundred grams of paint when they are so far off the back. That .01 second they save over a GP distance is going to be massive.

I’m not a fan of the sprint format. Yeah, it’s something different, but it seems to make quali less exciting.

Also, Obtuse, your posts are fascinating, but clearly over my head. My son who got me into F1 a few years ago is studying Aerospace Eng and is in his second year of college. I’ll need him to be my interpreter!

I’m not a fan of the sprint either but I’ll be honest I’m going to watch three sessions this weekend versus the standard Qualy and Race of a normal weekend.

That’s what they want us to do and I think if they don’t go over board they can get me to do it a few weekends a year.

As a fan I would really like to see a reverse grid sprint qualifying later in the year based on point. I know it is cheeky and the team would hate it but I want to see it. Think if the weekend in Austin was the practices followed by a reverse sprint for race qualifying, everyone would watch it.

Okay, I'm here for the stupid sprint qualifier.

We're all in agreement that this is just so they can have another race event and make more money, right? It adds nothing of real value, and when you start doing gimmicky shite for money, it adds up over time and the sport becomes used up and absurd.

*yawn*

Ok. Who's ready for some racing? Contrived or not?

I don't mind the sprint races. I do mind the parc ferme after Q on Sprint race weekends.

It’s Ferraris and Leclercs to lose this year…. Although sainted has crashed out numerous times and may hurt them in the constructor.

Awesome battles on the track in the midfield, so let’s go on board with the first place car that is 2 seconds ahead of everyone

I’m with Crofty. I could go for another 10 laps, making it 30.

Hamilton has to be wondering, WTF. Behind his teammate, both Haas, and Bottas.

Max has been hanging around just outside of DRS range for a while. Not sure they'll make a move, though.

I have to admit this has been pretty entertaining.
