People follow drivers social media and get themselves worked up when the drivers post their views/opinions/etc.
I mean, no?

The post above mine was someone screenshotting his social media to get upset by it.

Please, might I inquire? What is your background to have such an intimate understanding of this data? My son's interest is in engineering and specifically, performance automotive engineering.
Sorry, I can't help with the career path. I just have what my wife calls HIA: hobby induced autism.

but do most pick a driver and stay with them or a team? Or both.
It is a mix of both but I personally don't understand the driver biased approach. This isn't to say I only like drivers while they are driving for Ferrari.
I see it very much as a team sport but it is perfectly legitimate to choose loyalty as if it were an individual sport.

Are there multiple judgment calls with stuff like that? I feel like that would be something that has a definite rule behind it. It was almost like they were going "Ahh ok lets have them have a shootout that will be better TV" instead of actually enforcing a rule.
In regards to Yas Marina you would be correct, it was all about not finishing behind a safety car, right, wrong or indifferent.
That said if you go back and dissect ever season where the finish was extremely close there will always be calls made off the race track that shifted the balance. You can do that last year with multiple incidents. Everyone tends to remember and focus on the late season calls that actually seem to make more difference. Sometimes you are the bug and sometimes you are the windshield.

You wouldn’t happen to be located in H-town?
Ran into a guy who’s got the two rare watches that you mentioned not posting in the watch thread on the OT a while back…. Immediately thought it was you.

I don’t think I’ve ever seen someone gatekeeping F1
You will see plenty if you venture out to the F1 forums. Maybe less now than initially. Some of the perfectly reasonable takeaways from DTS viewing were kinda wonky to people that found F1 in a more conventional or old-school way, it is like if someone had mainly been informed about F1 by reading Express (one of the UK online rags) they and most of the rest invent drama to drive clicks. Just go to express.co.uk and read the headlines.

Obtuse hiding out in a hay barn outside maranello
When I wasn't chasing selfies with Charles I was helping tune the bells in the Maranello Duomo.
As an aside, I met Don Alberto Bernardoni in 2002. Italy and Maranello in particular are incredible places to be when Ferrari wins.

European F1 fans have this obsession with this stupid reverse grid crap. Hopefully it never happens at any level and I hope the sprint is done after this year completely.
I don't like the idea for F1 but Jesus a lot of those F2/3 reverse grid races have been incredible in the past.

Lewis and Serena joining a bid to purchase Chelsea FC.
I get people and groups often buy teams they aren't lifelong fans of but I wonder how the boys for Fulham feel about LH's Arsenal tat. One thing is for damn sure Stamford Bridge ain't red. Plus I wouldn't buy into a football club that had shitty chants like Chelsea.

Lewis Hamilton everyone
At this point I would be shocked to see any of the F1 drivers admiring good looking women like red blooded males.
I mean it isn't like most of the paddock doesn't have hot GFs or wives.
I just don't understand why someone hates Lewis for anything other than the only legitimate reason: color.
He has always driven the wrong color car.

Nope, I live in Charlotte and haven't been to Houston in over a year.
Jebus I just realized I posted a BUNCH of times in a row. Woke up early and had to do something to pass the time before practice. Though seeing the track earlier makes me wonder how much practice we will see.
