It's a strange rule, but a safety rule.

If there aren't penalties and points handed out then no one will follow them.

Then penalize everyone 5 seconds because no one slowed down.

Pretty sure that is what will happen if telemetry shows it. And a penalty point or two each.

I’m a Checo fan, and I didn’t think he would be your race leader after lap 1. I was wrong. He drove well today, and just fell victim to bad luck.

Looks like even with a 5 sec penalty Mags won't lose a spot.

Happened last year and the penalties were stiff

quote:

A host of drivers were investigated for failing to slow sufficiently at the corner, but in the end just two of them – Williams’ Latifi and Haas driver Mazepin – were penalised by the stewards, with Sergio Perez, Carlos Sainz, Pierre Gasly, Charles Leclerc, Antonio Giovinazzi, and Daniel Ricciardo all escaping punishment.

quote:

Both Latifi and Mazepin were handed 10-second stop-and-go penalties, which translates to 30 seconds added to their race times.

Each driver was also given three penalty points, putting Mazepin on five for the current 12-month period, and Latifi on six.

Given Lewis’ attitude on the overall performance of the car and team, I could see him walking at the end of this year and waiting until the team gets the car back. Even more so if the car doesn’t progress and George seems to have consistent results.

He’s such an insufferable douche.

PIERRE'S HEALTH
He said on the radio saying that he felt like his intestines were falling out, it was the worst 5 laps of his life, and he’s in a lot of pain. his mechanics had to help him out of the car.

That doesn't sound ideal.

+1 from starting spot with bad pit luck. That's a damn good day. KMag was dusting Hamilton on the Mediums, too.

Also whoever runs production for F1 TV needs to be fired. It's some of the worst sporting event coverage I've ever seen. Especially for one with a budget as large as F1. They're all over the place.

Today was particularly bad. Not sure if they have a new producer or something.

Looked like they brought over the Monaco producer
