Pete Crow-Armstrong, the Mets' first-round pick from last year's draft, is indeed going to the Cubs in the Javier Báez trade. Pitcher Trevor Williams coming to NY as well. And it sounds like the Mets may not necessarily be done dealing today.

I know Nico can play short but not sure if that’s a long term solution. Nor do I think CF is either. But I suppose SS for now.

He is a CF i believe and was to be our CF of the future. But there is talk already of good feelings of being able to extend Baez, but will not talk about it during playoff run. So im good with giving him up

Can't imagine a situation where the Cubs wouldn't still try to extend both Rizzo and Baez in the off-season.

Cubs Twitter is saying this makes up for the lack of contact in the lineup in recent years, but significantly downgrades the middle infield defense. I'm sure it's more about acquiring talent and figuring things out later at the moment.

Doubt Baez comes back. Especially after he plays with his buddy Lindor. Rizzo maybe, but some of the Chicago media have said Jed ripped the band aid off, and is moving on from this core.

Didn’t Javy already say he wanted to play with him next year? I think the cubs may have seen writing on the wall and at least got something for him
