Wow Sagan looked too aggressive there. Or maybe Caleb lost it.

CARNAGE!

This has been a terrible start to the TDF.

I am not extremely familiar with the history of this event but does it seem like there is much more crashes/carnage than usual?

This is way more big crashes than usual. Stage 1 had two of the biggest crashes I have ever seen in the 6-7 yrs I have been watching the tour

I like a good bit of chaos, but I'm pretty bummed about Roglic at the moment.

Agreed. This is destroying the GC battle.

Rogolic just ate it pretty hard.

it looks like sonny colbrelli threw his arm up in frustration after roglic went down. i wonder if roglic touched his wheel?

Watching the TdF and a NASCAR race broke out.

This is nuts and ruining the GC.

Outside of any internal injuries, the road rash on Ewan's back is going to be brutal. Showing him sliding in slow motion made my skin crawl.

let's just remember that 1 of those crashes had nothing to do with any of the competitors... but rather an attention seeking idiot with a sign

yeah, the look on his face was rough to watch.

I tell people that my crashes are usually one of two types:

1) i am just riding along and all of a sudden, the next thing i know, i am down on the tarmac or trail
2) i know am going down and i have lots of time to think about how much it's going to suck. seems like ewan's crash and the look on his face was type 2.

Ala has to go all in on GC now. He can make the podium no doubt.

sonny colbrelli

Anyone that's been watching knows this guy is a danger to anyone in the peloton. They really should consider moving the 3k mark back on these worthless sprint stages. Maybe 10k out would stop all this fighting for space by every team.

Awful news about Ewan. Truly hate it for that kid.
These sprints are just crazy
