Yep QuickStep posted a photo of Cav making it in, shepherded by 4 of his teammates. What a team effort to make sure he keeps riding

Just finished the stream online. What a fricking ride by van Aert. This stage was absolutely brutal, and he had the ride of his life.

2nd post updated with recap, rankings and preview.
Appreciate you all. Go pedal if you haven't discovered the sport yet. There's nothing like it.
Have a wonderful evening

Got into the cycling / bought my first road bike because of this thread last year.

Haven't been able to get off my bike ever since

morning! The commentators are talking like this break will make it to the end. Could cause Cav to wait one more day before he ties the record.

They're setting him up to break it in Paris. Wouldn't that be an epic story for the ages

That would be as badass as it gets if he broke the record in Paris. Getting chills just thinking about it

so does that mean that at this point only the KOM race doesn't have an assumed winner yet (of course... barring crashes that cause an abandonment of the current holder of that jersey)

Pogacar taking yellow & white to Paris

Cav taking green to Paris

looks like it. But the Podium is still undecided, but even that is close to being decided.

This really makes me sad. You could tell that he just couldn't get into position during the bunch sprints.

He won the first stage that I watched from start to finish(2012 I think) and have followed him ever since.

It really is a shame Ewan was out and Sagan couldn't regain his form. Not taking anything away from Cav but I have a feeling the sprints would have been far more interesting.

Morning! Looks like a bunch sprint today so a good chance for Cav to tie the record.

“Tim DeClerk just got married.. and a nine month old child”
“He married a nine month old child?”

hahahahahahahah British humor. If you aren’t watching the full TDF coverage and not just the NBC version you are missing out.

How those riders that flew off that cliff climbed back up and kept going, I’ll never know
