Wildcat, I see some speculation that NE may use Stephon Gilmore as part of the deal to trade up in round 1.

Been a lot of smoke about trading him. He’s looking for a new contract but they haven’t ruled out giving him one. I think If they can leverage him to trade up for a QB that’s the perfect scenario, otherwise I think they’d possibly settle for a 2nd rounder if they could get it. Otherwise I think they’ll work out a pay bump fir him to play out his deal this season and he can hit FA next season and likely fetch a 3rd round comp pick
He’s still an elite player so I’d love him back but also given the amount of talent and resources in the DB field for them why they could view paying him 20 mil would be a pricey luxury
