Brad and Roush

Brad has been offered a co-ownership role with Roush. Hm

I'm just seeing a tweet from Andy Lally in that link you shared.

I get the allure of ownership, but I wouldn't be pumped about getting in Roush equipment. Roush has been mediocre since the Gen 6 car debut in 2013.

People were saying the same thing about Stewart joining Haas. Brad jumping in Roush equipment will only help them.

Yeah, that could be how it works out. Hopefully him joining Roush would lead to a new investment in the equipment.

Let's say it happens, I wonder how that shakes things up with Penske/Wood Brothers. Does Cindric go to the 2 and Matt D stays in the 21? Currently, Cindric is going to the 21 next year and Matt D is out.

Cindric would jump to Penske. I see Blaney shuffling to the 2. Cindric to the 12. Woods wanna keep Matty D. This is their chance to.

Got a big reset coming in next year - teams aren't building the cars anymore. If I'm Brad, I'd take it - he's got his business set up to support the racing now, he has nothing really left to prove in Cup aside from winning the 500, he has already expressed wanting to get into Cup ownership....

why not?

I am not sure owning is a great deal, we saw what it did to Harv. I get wanting control of your team, but owning seems to be pressure. It will be interesting after this year to see Hamlin's performance due to ownership, especially if 23 continues to flounder (I am trying to be nice here)

ETA:

The counter to this is what Kyle has done with ownership.

Roush was solid in the older days with Kenseth, Busch and Edwards.
BL could inject life back into it.

And on the other hand we see what happened when Tony partnered with Gene Haas' miserable team in 2009...

Rough used to find and develop drivers like crazy. That hasn't been happening lately.

Correct me if I am wrong, but wasn't Haas CNC a low budget satellite team of Hendrick and got major money and new manufacturer when Stewart-Haas formed?

They were basically a side chick of Hendrick with Chevy motors, but Stewart showing up brought in the talent/knowledge and sponsorship $ they sorely needed. They switched to ford just a few years ago - they won their two championships with Chevy.

Brad has been such an integral part of Penske success. No question his input could elevate that team.

Edwards ran the 19 at Gibbs, if that is what you meant.

It was
Hamlin in 11
Kyle in 18
Edwards in 19
Suarez in 20 who got in after Logano left for Penske (not of his own doing)
