Dead last Wake Forest just beat Pitt. Good news for La Tech as Pitt was one of the 20 host sites.

Pitt is done as a host, but Tech can't scoreboard watch. Win the tournament and you get to host. That is your path. Anything else and you are leaving it in the hands of the committee and any G5 should know you never, ever leave anything in the hands of the committee.

Tulane got swept today in their doubleheader at Cincinnati. Can forget about any hopes for an at-large bid at this point

Tech led 3-0 and 7-3, but loses 10-8 ... The story all season long

Bullpen does it again. Tech pulled their starter after the 4th. He wasn't doing too badly. It's like Lane Burroughs has no interest in hosting a regional. He pulls the starters too early and leaves BP pitchers in too long. It's f***ing ridiculous.

If Tech had ULMs bullpen, they would be a tough, tough out.

I don't know WTF he's thinking. He took out Fincher after 4 (gave up 3 but was looking decent) then immediately put in Jennings, whom is supposed to be tomorrow's starter. He shouldn't have taken him out before the 7th. He pissed away this game by taking the starter out early, just as he did the LSU game and several others. The bullpen has given up multiple run leads in at least 7 or 8 of Tech's losses. It's absolutely HORRIBLE, and I can't for the life of me understand why he keeps bringing some of them in with the game on the line. A good game manager can shield these problems. Tech's coach is absolutely not a good game manager. Far from it. He's strong in other areas, but definitely not that one.

In his defense, Lane was very open about his plan going into last night.

From a bug picture standpoint, I don’t think anything changed last night.

Charlotte lost, Pitt lost, South Carolina lost. Southern Miss has to knock Tech out of the tournament to get ahead of them in the hosting picking order. I think last night potentially locked in Conference USA only getting one host spot which half this thread will argue was locked in before last night.

Tulane got run-ruled today at Cincy. Can safely say their at-large hopes are dead.

In the first positive news posted in this thread in quite some time...

Southern and Grambling have both advanced to the semi finals but both will need to win this evening and tomorrow to advance to the championship.

We were overrated as hell, the big winning streak was just because of playing garbage teams

@KendallRogers
That is six-straight losses for #Pittsburgh, and that’s a bad series loss, too. Pitt could go from a potential host to not even in the tournament.
