Sounds like Tech’s games V ODU aren’t technically conference games. ODU decided to come to town early so they negotiated a couple of games to get ready for the tourney. Per radio broadcast yesterday.

Thats exactly right. It will boost their resume with no harm toward conference standings.

Looks like Charlotte lost twice to Rice. That's got to take them out of a regional there. Now 3 to go
Still way too early. They could rebound and earn a seed by winning the CUSA tournament. Still lots of meaningful baseball to go.

Conference USA tournament will be fun. Tech has the hosting lead on the other two after this weekend, but not a commanding lead over Charlotte. That’s my guess. I think Tech has a much stronger resume, but Charlotte did win the conference.

Southern Miss really screwed themselves today. Now they have handed Tech the division and lost five of eight to them. They’ll need to advance to the championship, at minimum, to jump the Bulldogs in the hosting conversation.

If Tech could take both against OD, beat SM twice in the tournament, then beat Charlotte in the championship, that'd be five wins over ranked or Quad 1 opponents to close the season. A seed would be guaranteed at that point, and plus we could avoid being paired with the 1,2, or 3 seeds for a potential Super. It's gonna be damn exciting!

FAU is a dark horse in their bracket. That team is much better than their record shows.

I don't know how Gonzaga is even in the conversation. This ain't basketball, and they haven't beaten hardly anyone worth a damn. And Pitt is a damn joke. Whomever selected them as a potential host was smoking crack.

It is easy to forget how much some of these coaches care. You can tell how much this win meant to Burroughs

They got swept by NC State at home this weekend. Very good for the other bubble host teams listed in the final 20.

Gonzaga and La Tech have very similar SOS in conference and Gonzaga has a top-10 non-conference SOS. One thing working against Gonzaga is that they're 4th in the pecking order for a host spot out west behind Arizona, Stanford, and Oregon. Not sure if we get 4 west coast regionals.

One thing working against La Tech is there are about 9 or 10 potential regionals that are in the Southeast.

Pitt has a top-25 SOS, but they have a pretty weak hosting pedigree. The only thing going for them is being in the NE and getting a regional out there, but Notre Dame is about 5.5 hours away from Pittsburgh so that may be close enough.

My prediction is if La Tech makes it to the finals of the conference tournament, they're pretty close to a lock to host.

Look out for ULM. They can make some noise in the Sun Belt tourney. They are playing very well right now.

I think Pitt got swept this weekend. Hopefully that takes them out of consideration.

in true ULM fashion theyll get swept this weekend to a team they shouldnt lose a game to. beat a higher ranked tema in the first round or two to build false up. and then inevitably disappoint and flame out. its the ULM way sadly.

Being an athlete there made me a cold cold person.

Pitt likely did blow it.

You'd think only one of Gonzaga and Stanford will get the last of 3 west regionals.

South Carolina may have to win their home series this weekend vs. Tennessee to stay in consideration.

Tech and Charlotte are clearly ahead of Southern Miss in the pecking order right now.

So if they gave the regionals out today, I'd guess Pitt, USM, South Carolina and Stanford would probably be out.

Pitt is still projected as a seed, somehow. What a bunch of BS.

Goodness

Congrats on hosting your first regional. Here’s Florida State and LSU. Oh and if you win that here’s a team nobody has won a series against all season.

Talk about earning your way to Omaha
