He is losing time on purpose so he can go in a breakway

the ad-free commentators seem to think he is in pain for some reason. I think he might be going for a breakaway, but who knows.
edit: I thought Cosnefroy wouldn't keep the polka-dot jersey but amazingly he still has it.

Figure Bora will trying to bury the green jersey early if they can control the breakaway attacks for the sprinters points and then the fun begins. This looks extremely hard and if raced properly, it could be epic.

Tomorrow will be the crucible for Pog and Rog. It is such a shame (for the viewers) that UAE is so weak compared to Jumbo.
Just some food for thought Pog did beat Rog at the end of June in the Slovenian TT National Championship and it was an uphill TT...

That is something to consider, but this is more of a proper TT (that TT was only about 15k that was up then down) with more flat than climbing. Still think Rog has a good chance of taking time here on Pog. Who knows how their form is in four days? Going to be fun...

so do we expect a breakaway to win it tomorrow or is it a GC stage win?
Should be a fun race to watch. Hopefully, we see lots of attacks on the final climb. I believe the winner of the final climb will also get the polka-dot. 40 points at the end.

I agree Stage 20 is somewhat different from the Natty course but disagree with your characterization of the championship course.
That course was 15.7k long BUT it isn't flat anywhere, the first part of the course was steeper but the latter part still was all climbing. The course had a little over 700m of elevation gain in 15.7k compared to 745m of elevation gain in 36.2k but with 500m of that in the last 6k. Altitudes are similar enough with the Slovenian course being a little higher.
My take away is they can both TT but Pog might be a little better. The question is who is better over a longer flat TT with a really punchy climb at the end. I have a feeling Pog has 20-25 seconds over Rog in stage 20 which could be the difference in the yellow in Paris. If he doesn't have a full minute on Pog I bet Rog will lose sleep on Friday night.
Pog getting caught out in that split has to be weighing on his mind. I hope he gets 20-30 seconds on Rog tomorrow so Saturday will be fire.

The flat I was referencing was in stage 20. My use of parentheses to highlight the championship course threw off the point I was making about Saturday. This is a much longer effort and most of it suits Rog better in my opinion.

They'll be starting the final climb beast soon. Jumbo Vista still 6-deep

Nice of them to give Jumbo extra team members

What was their reasoning of doing this? Just to get a podium for today? Is Landa really thinking he can get in top 3? Pog has polka and white now correct?
